Post-menopause
« on: February 21, 2015, 12:58:30 PM »

Hi Girls

Are any women here who are post-menopause and would like to tell me how they find living with what they have turned into?

I think I am having problems adjusting my behaviour to new conditions - new voice, new face, shape, fitness, energy, etc., are causing difficulties in interaction with other people, I feel. Going for what I liked before makes no sense any more, or I have no patience for - working out new ways feels difficult and strenuous..

How is it for you? ;)

Any advice?

Thanks!

Hi Orrla - yes, I can identify with this.  Interacting with other people (any more than one) can make me want to hide in a corner, especially in the evening - and it can happen with friends, family or strangers.   I've never really thought why this is.  I'm certainly more self-conscious these days.  And my conversation can grind to a halt in the evenings, which makes small talk a nightmare at that time of day when it's easier to be a passive listener.

You've summed it up very well Orrla.   I definitely feel I am turning into someone else and old pleasures don't do it  for me anymore.
Much less tolerant and kind than I used to be, I hope that is temporary, I don't like that side of the new me.

No advice sorry, I'm just a learner too I'm afraid, but at least we are not alone.

I do find I'm a bit morbid too ! Thinking about old age and death lots more than ever used to ! Don't like that either.
There must be some good stuff coming surely? xxx

Hi

Good to hear from you!

My fatalistic thoughts are about our social world - and ageing amongst selfish ... Brrr..  But on a whole I could compare to feeling as I did when I was 7 years old. I don't wish to be adult anymore!  :-\

Must exercise more - and see if it'll help   :o

Take care!
