Thankful for this site all all you lovely ladies
« on: October 29, 2014, 08:35:28 PM »

:thankyou: since ive joined this site ive posted numerous times sometimes repeating myself :) anxiety anxiety anxiety, and the advice, help, sympathy and reassurance Ive had from others going through the same thing has and will continue to help a lot, my gp's are not great or very up on menupause, I don't think they get that anxiety is related, nor have they heard of many different hrt types without consulting their book and even then cant find things that ive been recommended to try, its a journey, tried hrt tablets, tried homeopath, ad's, herbal, hrt patches, about to start new hrt patches, but its great to have company going through this journey xx

And you have the support of those who may not have had similar experiences, but read and send caring vibes to you. I've received wonderful support here too.

I'm so grateful I found this site. My GP is sympathetic but seems unable to accept that because I am now 8years post menopause I can still be having menopause symptoms of anxiety, hot flushes and just puts it all down to anxiety. On this site I feel that I am not slowly going mad but others have the same problems and that helps a lot.

I completely agree with everything that has been said. This site has seriously saved my sanity and is the first place I turn to whenever another weird symptom crops up.

The understanding and empathy from all you lovely ladies is priceless and I have recommended the site to so many people who are struggling with this meno journey and getting little help from their GP's.

Big thanks

W xx

:thankyou: from me too. i only joined last week, but it's so nice to be able to talk about menopause stuff and know that you're not alone and won't get judged. Am just off to the dr's for a review, as i have been off for a week now and on new ad dosage.  feeling much more positive, but would like to get back on the bicycle of normality and back to work.

I browsed for some time before I joined and then to start with I felt shy coming into an established group but I was made so welcome and people took what I posted seriously and replied. That gave me confidence and I started posting more freely.  Since then the forum has started to feel like a safe haven in a not very nice world and it always makes me feel better whatever I felt like when I logged in

Sorry to hear that you're feeling so low Karenja. Sending you (((((((hugs))))))) to make you feel better.
Had my first telephone therapy consultation today with a counsellor from ''time to talk''. Have to say i found it a little odd, trying to explain my past and present state of mind to a stranger over the phone and i have got another telephone session next month over the phone before I start going to a therapy group. Funnily enough , my neighbour across the hall went through something similar 18 months ago, and 'time to talk' therapy helped her figure out what her anxiety triggers are, so fingers crossed, it will help me too.
have you had a look at the ' 321 method  ' that Bette post on here. I will definitely be trying it as am still struggling with keeping the anxiety managable.
keep smiling on the inside xx

Hi kas thank you for your reply I have tried the 123 thing but for me it didn't stop my panic attack but I would give it another try - back on the estrogen now hoping things will improve x

I love this site.
Doctors, so far, to me, seem unempathic and sort of unwilling to discuss meno and hrt. One of my doctors is going through it herself, and she doesn't seem the happy dotty doctor that she used to be, laughing all the time.
This site helps me feel not so alone.
I can come on here and feel people are with me experiencing the same things.
Meno has taken me by surprise. Not a good suprise either.
I was four and a half years into it before I reailsed it was meno, I thought all these horrible symptoms were down to a withdrawal symptoms from a medication I weaned off at the time.
Meno anxiety is in a class of it's own, and is deffinitely different to normal anxiety.

Hello ladies.

I just want to say that I have also found this site to be invaluable. The ladies on this forum have got me through some dark and worrying times and I'm so grateful to everyone that takes the time to post their experiences and advice.
Mother Nature can be very cruel and I think we all deserve a medal!

Wishing everyone well.

I love this site too...such a great place to be able to laugh at ourselves a little when we have 'meno brain farts'... it takes away the anxiety around those... and so lovely to be able to ask advice from those who have been through peri with all of its craziness....

I live alone with my 7 year old daughter, and spend a lot of time on my own, esp in the evenings...anxiety and solitude are a bad mix...is nice to know you're not alone  :)
