I always use my preparation at night, that way it doesn't drain away.  Bubble bath, good book, cuppa; into bed and hey presto! if it's messy I lay on a large bath towel …….

Gynest, Ovestin and Vagifem made me burn.  I think my VA was so bad in my urethra that I was sensitive to everything.  Maybe, if I'd persevered for a few more months, the burning would have subsided as the oestrogen did it's magic. I'm using the Estring which is just a latex ring that slowly releases the oestrogen so there are no fillers to irritate. It still took over 4 months before I started to feel comfortable.  Dg x

Dancinggirl, I asked you about estring before somewhere but can't remember where. I have an appointment with my lovely lady GP on 10th Sept to ask more about this. I have been fine with Vagifem for 4 years but sometimes forget it so want to know more about this method.

If you've had several children like me then there is no way I could use Gynest pessaries or cream in the morning as it would just run out - the pessaries (discontinued) even ooze out at night ( which is quite soothing and keeps that area moist).

Vagifem sticks to the vaginal walls as soon as it is inserted so can be inserted at any time of day. I use this in the morning when I am on the progesterone part of my cycle (Utrogestan) because I use it vaginally and didn't want to stick too much up there at once!  ;D
