I think after just reading from Taz2 about GAD this is what I have it seems like how I am feeling and have felt for a very long time, the thing is with me I am fine most days but it is always at night I suffer. Then again if I have a real bad night I suffer through the day! I have told my gp so many times about my anxiety but have never been offered any medication the last time it was really bad I was crying in the doctors room he give me a leaflet to take home and read up with some internet site I did, but it made me feel worse !!!

Hi Anjia,
How is a blooming leaflet meant to make you feel better?

Time to see a different GP.

After reading Taz2's link, I really do think I'm back there again and have been since last August :-\
I'm going to see how I feel on the new hrt before I march back and demand some treatment :valkyrie:

This is the one my doc directed me too. It is quite good in terms of lifting your mood which can also help with the anxious feelings http://www.llttf.com/

Hi Galadriel

Been away so unable to post......tried red wine last night !  Didn't work...

I also get twitchy legs, sometimes anxiety driven but other times just because I am soooooo tired.

Magnesium citrate - I am now taking 600mg per night.  I am going to try taking it an hour before I go to bed.... I will let you know

Thinking about trying to set up a menopause support group at work....there seems to be a real resistance to share information

I seem to cycle through symptoms, hoping I might cycle out of not sleeping soon,  I have started exercising - well walking, nothing drastic - and this seems to help

Here's hoping we all sleep well tonight   Xx

Hi Wombat,

I had a bucket of wine on Saturday night and I still woke up ::)

I think my twitchiness is a combination of anxiety and tiredness too.

I think I'll start with 300mg to see how I go.

So far I've shared this site with two ladies at work. One of them goes power walking with me at lunchtime to feed the ducks. Makes us both feel a little happier and gets us out of the office, away from the computer screen!

I may cycle out of this in time for the dawn chorus to wake me up instead ;D

Fingers crossed neither of us sees stupid o'clock tomorrow morning ;)

Daily mail article today. All about ladies taking testosterone and huge benefits. Feeling sexy, womanly again and lots of symptoms going. Common knowledge? Controversial?

I'm not sure it's hugely common knowledge.
I did know about it as I worked in women's healthcare for 15 years - contraceptive pills and hrt, and yes I am aware of the irony that I know so little about this phase in our lives.
We were taught about sweats and flushes, VA, osteoporosis, CV disease but not so much about the psychological effects! The more I think about it, the more I'm annoyed that this huge aspect was ignored!!!

The menopause clinics I visited used testosterone patches for some ladies but it was very new to the market at the time.
I'd forgotten that testosterone is involved in depression and anxiety - but then it has been 8 years since I left that field and I have quite a leaky brain at the moment ::)

Makes interesting reading libbyloo x

Hi
Interesting reading about testosterone
I had an implant a few years ago to try to help with loss of libido......it did nothing but give me a great big bruise in my tummy where it was implanted.....my gynae told me a good holiday would work just as well.
Ps. Neither helped!

Recently, my normally lovely sleep pattern vanished. Tossing and turning, reading MM at 2am. Over last five nights I've had a lettuce and salad cream wholemeal sandwich for supper. Sleep restored!!!! Yummy toooo x

Lettuce does the job libbyloo, I have been known to buy it just for that  http://www.thirdage.com/sleep/let-lettuce-help-you-sleep

You can get the herbal pills too.

Here I am in the wee small hours, listening to himself snoring LOUDLY & the birds twittering away outside. Vivid dream woke me, but can no longer remember its content. Clocks have gone forward, depriving me of an hour of much needed slumber. Oh & to top it off it's Mother's Day, when us mums are meant to be pampered. Not much chance of that! Although I am having lunch over at son's later, so maybe, just maybe I can stay in bed until it's time to go.  ::)
