Hi, I have been on Femosten lower dose for some 12 months now and at first it was miraculous but over the past few months have been experiencing severe stomach pains just prior to a bleed and irritability and occasional night sweats.....Do I need to go back to docs for different / higher dose ...or do I stick it out until the review in 2 months.....Thanks in anticipation of your help....

Since winter is here (almost) could you stick it out with the cooler weather?  If not, go ahead and make the appt. or maybe make it a little earlier than normal if they will let you?

Hi Bev - although it is tempting to always blame feeling ill onto menopause or HRT I think you should visit the GP just to make rule out anything else going on such as fibroids which can cause the symptoms you mention.

And just to add also that it is normal to feel irritability just before the bleed -  that is just pmt, and will be due to the sudden drop in progestogen levels. Doesn't make it any better but at least you may know the reason for that symptom!
