CLKD - some stupid menopausal old bat has caused me load of work. Seems someone castrated all the tup lambs... except one... which has been out with the Dorset's which can lamb at any time of year. So when the tups went out with the early lambers... it seems 25 of them were already in lamb. Brought 7 home today which look as though they'll lamb in the next few days. So this year's lambing will last from tomorrow til May. Grrr🤐

Yes! Somebody with a functioning brain when they're castrated  ;D Though that might be a mistake I'm careful not to make again! Last time we had Xmas lambs it was when we first got Dorsets and OH hadn't worked out the tups had to be removed earlier than for 'normal' ewes. One all.

Will probably keep the ewe lambs as they'll be well enough grown to lamb themselves next year. Wethers will be ready May/June when prices are still high but we haven't had to spend a fortune on corn to get them ready for Easter.

How lovely.  As long as it doesn't snow, they can gamble  :-*

A llama would be nice  ;)

Aaaw, lambs for xmas. I'd love to have one in my house (for a week)  :bounci:
I'm not soppy Sheila99, I do know they are food ... although I don't eat lamb. They just look so cuddly.
