Lobster is too chewy for me, I will eat freshly caught crab with brown bread and butter.  Himself is cooking steak, flat chipped potatoes in the oven and probably a kind of squash thingy.  Sandwiches tomorrow as we are off fishing.  I don't like fish much  ::) although freshly caught mackerel on a fire on the beach is great ;-).

Sounds like a plan Mrs B! My fav is the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach, CA. They serve Alaskan King Crab which I kid you not, is to die for! Typical US portions, it's amazing. Simple restaurant, paper plates, but the quality of the food is outstanding.

There is not a shell fish I don't love, we eat a lot of the stuff!  :)

Griddled salmon, with a chilli sauce and a big stir fry of veg, and coconut and lime rice tonight. x

The Shack in Oban is just that....a shack.
There are a few posh places on the pier but this is the go to one.

It's nice to hear of other really good seafood places though. Bit of a drive for us  :)

We are heading up towards Loch Fyne in the summer. The fishery place there supplies Harrods now but when it first opened it was a shed. I'm hoping to get langostines, and lobster. Hubby likes crab but I only like the white meat and unfortunately I'm allergic to oysters. Plenty to choose from though. It's going to be our holiday treat.

If the lobster you have eaten is chewy CLKD then it's overcooked. It should be melt in the mouth tender.

Oh yes. Crab shack in Oban is fantastic. Got the grand seafood platter last year. £30 but you would easily pay 3x in a restaurant. Took it back and cracked open a nice bottle of rose. Lobster, salmon, langoustines, crab, herring, prawns, mussels, razor clams. was fantastic and highly recommended as Ma Brown has said. Glad they didn't have oysters though. They give me the " boak "
Good Scottish word for you. Look it up🤢

BBQ again for us tonight. Got to take advantage of the weather.
I marinaded lamb rump in red wine, olive oil, lemon zest and juice with a little garlic and oregano. I made up skewers and hubby cooked it. Well that's the mans job isn't it...he even has an apron that says so  ;D
I served it with a Greek salad and pitta.....it was yummy....oh and healthy.

I'm not keen on oysters either, I had a strange reaction at one time and I'm really scared to try again. They don't give me the boak though  ;D ;D

Hasty I'd same experience with oysters! In fact that was the turning point I believe in triggering many of my symptoms- mine were cooked - made no difference- got norovirus and a hernia and a string of issues too long to recount  ;D

Chicken skewers marinated in yogurt, lemon juice and loads of spices.

Son is coming for dinner tonight. I suspect he will bring his washing with him  ::)
