Son is home for a few days and I'm making his favourite tonight.  Hunters Chicken .... Chicken breasts wrapped in bacon with cheese topping and a kind of sauce I make from tomatoes, onions, chilli flakes etc.   I will just do rice with that I think.

Cut  it when it's hot and still in the tin into squares or fingers. Dredge with sugar and then leave until cold.
Hope it tastes good.

bum, missed this.  I let it cool first.  Anyway, looks good so far - made enough and all cut up nicely without breaking up into a zillion bits like last time.  DH will do the taste test but looks good enough to me, thank you so much for your help :)

Oh we sure do know how to make shortbread! Think my mum used to add rice flour as opposed to ground almonds in hers, but could be wrong. Might make some this year. Christmas cake is waste of time for hubby & I. Nobody else will eat it. Even hubby peels off the marzipan as he hates the stuff. So I end up with piles of marzipan & he gets cake. Maybe buy a slab to keep him happy.  ;D

That would be my choice too Prajna, but not hubby's. Will probably do some mince pies instead. They're never wasted.  :)

The Indians never keep curry …….. but we find that if it's kept it absorbs the flavours etc. …… so eaten hot the first night then cold 2/3 nights.  We had it cold for lunch 2-day  ;)

The only thing that did really well and did not bolt was kale....I'm sick of kale  ::)

Our carrots got root fly, our potatoes had scab, our beetroot bolted....mostly due to me wanting to try heritage seeds. Cost a flamin fortune and were rubbish.
Lesson learned.....stick with what I know works.

My tomatoes were ok though, but again I tried weird stuff....next year it will be the stuff I know works.

I'll pass on the kale - thanks  ;D ……… we eat our produce when it's ready - sprouts however have to be frosted to be enjoyable …….. I love 'em  ;): into salted water, bring to the boil, simmer briefly and turn off …..

Steak & Kidney casserole. Steamed syrup pudding. Unfortunately pudding is stuck in the pan. Can't get pot lid off,  not even with a screw driver.  :'( :'( :'(
