They are best warm.

Always a disappointment when bought from a shop with a long sell by date on them.  Immediate is best  ;D

Red and pretty weird looking. Get the fishmonger to fillet it for me as there's so much waste and it's a tricky looking beast with lots of prickly bits. Utterly delicious though and makes tasty fish and chips if you're inclined! x

I'm having problems with choosing something to eat at lunch time  :-\, it's almost picnic time and I've gone off cheese, cold meats, don't like sausages, can't be bothered with salads ....... any suggestions?  We don't live close enough to supermarkets to nip in and grab what I fancy ..... ready-made or not.  Sandwiches are boring!

Not sure whether you mean to eat away as a picnic or at home for lunch?

What about hot wraps, stuffed with chicken, grilled peppers and if you have any avocados around, guacamole and mixed leaves? I love hot sandwiches or wraps filled with BLT, or spicy chicken and salad, or scampi, tartare sauce and salad, or fish goujons and salad (obviously you've got to love your salad!!) If not grilled peppers, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes are glorious in sandwiches or wraps.

If for a picnic, make tomato based pasta the night before with whatever ingredient takes your fancy, and eat cold the following day. Make a rice salad the night before with any chopped veg and protein you like, that's great cold the next day too. What about taking a flask of steaming hot soup with bread. If you have tinned chick peas you could whizz up a humus. What about a thick tortilla with onion, potatoes, chorizo, peppers, petit pois, that's great cold the next day?

Sorry I don't know what your fridge and larder contents are, that's a different thread altogether!! x

Himself has spent the afternoon filleting freshly caught trout and making Cornish pasties, 1 for our evening meal then the rest will be put into the freezer once cooled.
