We seldom get the really big names in Aberdeen these days despite having exhibition centre.  Venue isn't big enough apparently. Have to travel to Glasgow SECC to see really big names which makes it a tad expensive. Concert tickets, plus travel, plus overnight stay. Only two concerts we did that for were REM and Coldplay.

Thank you Rowan.

I have a John Denver playlist on my phone and i listen to it when I'm working ;D ;D

I know CB its a shame isn't it. We were lucky enough to be invited by friend to SERC to see Dolly.
Dread to think what it cost.

Glen Campbell was in the Music Hall.

Apparently the Glastonbury Team have been fined due to human waste being allowed to seep into the local water course in 2014.   :-[.  It would seem that no one contacted the Environment Agency when it was noted during the Festival that the acceptable discharge rates from the site had risen above what was expected.  Many fish including protected UK Species died  :'(

It was a shame but an accident. The tank sprung/sprang a leak. 42 fish died https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/may/24/glastonbury-festival-fined-over-sewage-leak

The Judge didn't think so Taz, to the sum of several £ths.  There is absolutely NO excuse, the tanks should have been double bunded and although the Enviroment Agency had done their Risk Assesment and passed the tanks …….. the buck stops with the organisers.

Personally, the tanks should not have been so close to a water course anyway  >:(

The judge seems more amused I think

"The district judge Simon Cooper said the Somerset festival could have contacted the authorities more quickly following the problem in June 2014, but said it had largely dealt with it well.

He expressed amusement at the level of detail he had heard over how the festival handled the situation.

Bristol magistrates court heard that sewage found its way into Whitelake river, harming water quality and leading to the death of 42 fish including brown trout.

Glastonbury Festivals Ltd admitted a single charge of breaching environmental regulations. The judge fined the festival £12,000 and ordered it to pay £19,000 towards prosecution costs.

He found that Glastonbury had “low culpability” for the incident and praised its response and systems. He said: “I am still slightly amused that it has been necessary to go to this level of detail.

“I am satisfied that there was proper planning for the festival and no criticism is made of that. There was a waste management plan, there was a rivers and streams management plan. I am impressed by how responsive Glastonbury Festivals Ltd have been.

“I am bemused at the vigour and energy that has been put into this detailed analysis of what happened, much after the event. I am sure lessons will be learned. I shall say no more about it, save to say that cooperation is clearly essential and I hope that this hearing has done nothing to affect that"

My concert list is very, very short in comparison to most of you:

Jason Donovan (when I was about 14)
Ronan Keating (twice)
Boyzone (4 times)

I'm more of a fan of stage musicals really.

David Cassidy

Gosh, I think if I'd ever seen David Cassidy "live", I'd have been one of those girls who pass out at concerts!!   In my early teens, I thought he was gorgeous  ;)  (and he was, then!)

But I'm afraid I've never, ever been to a pop concert, only classical (lots of those!).........  :)  Aren't I boring?!
