Hurdity, I know the Larmar tree festival! because of living very near there, but haven't been. A colleague of mine goes to the Womad festival every year. Its somewhere near Malmesbury. Last year Robert Plant's new bluegrass band was on there.  Van Morrisson used to be on at the Larmar tree  - just remembered I've seen him too.  :D

I'd love to see Fleetwood Mac but prices for the Rolling Stones were ridiculous!

When we went to The Monsters of Rock concert at Castle Donnington in 1984, my mate Rosie insisted we pushed our way to the front by the stage, presumably in the throng of the mosh pit?? ;D It was a nightmare because we were staring at Dave Lee Roths tight leopard skin crotched leggings being squashed to death, whilst people were throwing plastic bottles of urine around the crowds!!

I ended back stage completely by accident, because I had wandered out of the festival.   I remember asking the bouncers where the toilet were, and they asked me if I had an invitation, and I was busy looking for my ticket in my pockets of my tight faded jeans with the zips up the side they let me in! Everyone was clambering the walls trying to sneak in, yet, I got in without trying because I was too sloshed to realise what I was doing. All the stars and Picadilly radio were there, queueing up for the toilet. This festival in 1984 is actually on u-tube!

We were really sorry when WOMAD left their Reading site as it as great  having it just down the road. The atmosphere is really good.  £145 a ticket http://womad.co.uk/charlton_park/

My friend wanted me to go and see the Who in July.   Its more her era than mine, but I can't go because I will be away. I would like to have gone to the Isle of Wight festival in 1970, because a lot of people went locally and there was a great line up that year.  What was Jim the lead singer like in the Doors Suzi?  Wasn't he hot before he grew the beard and became overweight?. :-*

I went I was based in Duchess Of Kent Barracks in Portsmouth we got free tickets
It was fab but we had to leave and be back by 11.59pm so no real memories of it
Jim Morrison fkadk he was abso gorg wonderful make you go weak at the knees
OHH he was hoit alright when he did the Lizard wheeeeeeeeeeee
Been to his grave in Paris as has son and dinlaw you have to go its almost a pilgrimage xxx

I did see him alive in the Granada studio sessions check it out on utube late 60s

It's hard to track down any appearances at Granada Studios Suzi but they did play four gigs at The Roundhouse which was filmed by Granada Studios for a documentary film - The Doors are Open. That footage is online. That was in 1968 and they were supported by Jefferson Airplane.

Don't like Van Morrison's songs  ::)

Can't do theatres either these days.  The feeling of being trapped remains.  We ordered end of row seats to see Black Mambazo 5 years ago but I was trapped against a wall - wrong end of row  >:(  ::) and I had to leave half way through the first half.  The deep voices reverberated through my chest and made me queasy  :-\ and I had wanted to see them for years ........

So I no longer look at the 'what's on' programme when it arrives ......... <sign>

Hey pixie - fancy living near there. I dont live that far away - well about an hour and a half. Last year it was a mud bath - literally paddling - stall-holders had to build mud dams as it flowed downhill. Had a great time though - didn't mind plodging! Just great to see lots of small bands in small venues - even the main stage area is small. Yes I've seen van Morrison too many years ago.
Haven't been to Womad - lots of people talk about it though - I missed out on lots of good festivals but hoping to make up for it in my old age...!!

I've been to quite a few over the years, not all pop - mostly here in London but saw Sting, Gloria Estefan and U2 ( don't like them except for my theme song "still haven't found what I'm looking for!) in Cape Town as well as local musicians like Louis Mhlanga and Vusi Mahlasela.

Van Morrison (he was in a bad mood), Keith Jarrett in San Sebastián, near where we used to live (ipad did that accent, not me!)

London: Oscar Peterson
Alison Krauss and Union Station
Ali Farka Toure
David Gray
Prince (top deck of the O2 so couldn't see or hear)
Bob Dylan ( cheaper seats at wembley arena so as Prince  >:()
Jan Gabarek & the Hilliard Ensemble in St Paul's Cathedral
Shakira (!)
Santana
James Taylor
Zakir Hussain
Walked out of some Canadian wailer at the Barbican, along with many others. Have forgotten her name, if not her out of tune voice!
Going to see the Boss in June

Would really love to have gone to see REM and would paddle a canoe across the Atlantic to see JJ Cale.
I mostly go to concerts I can get to, so north or west London don't feature and they often get the best concerts.
Years ago when young and healthy I went to Womad, when it was in Bracknell. I've never forgotten Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I went into a sort of trance, which embarrassed OH so he jabbed me in the ribs to snap me out of it!!

;D Just watching a programme about bands from 1971 on BBC4 - some of those you have all mentioned on here. Family,- sounds like he has a bad case of laryngitis, Humble pie, Badfinger, Stone the Crows, Babe Ruth and Rod Sterwart with the faces and a very young looking Ronnie Wood, They all had that same haircut, which was popular at the time.

Think Van Morrison is well known for his moods. He did a show here a few years ago in the grounds of a castle. He stomped on, sang, no audience interaction, then stomped off again.   Hubby saw him as he was policing the event. Said he was very ill tempered.

Yes, he was like that in Spain when we went. I was so irritated with him. I'd not go again.

I'd also love to see Led Zeppelin. I love what they did when they played the O2 (not that I got a ticket), where no ticket agencies or touts got their hands on any tickets.

Saw Westlife , The Eagles , Paul McCartney , Dusty Springfield (years ago ) , Hermans Hermits (again yrs ago ) , they were all very good .

I'm more into Country is that OK.

Went to see Dolly Parton, excellent. ;D ;D

Willy Nelson, absolute rubbish, people were walking out in middle.

And Glen Campbell's farewell tour, he has altzhimers . Sorry can't spell it. It was great too. He had 3 of his kids in the band, and got a standing ovation when he completley forgot words and started again.

I would have loved to seen John Denver when he came to Aberdeen, but I couldn't afford the tickets. No chance now  :'( :'(
