It pongs in the bedroom now, enough to repel me or any potential male, let alone a spider!  Good job I didn't put the eucalyptus oils on as well ( another spider repellent)

I wasn't sleeping well this week and had a spider scurry over my arm and over the side of the bed ..........

OMG  that has made all the hairs stand up on my arms  .
     I was in a shop the other day looking for spider repellent spray, I picked a bottle up, and the picture on the label was of a big black spider  I promptly dropped it. Needles to say I didn't buy it........That is how bad I am, can't even look at a picture of a spider

I have been reading all of these posts and feel so sorry for those of you who are petrified of spiders. It must be really horrible when you never know when you might see one. Tremendous results can be had by hypnotherapy and desensitisation and I wondered whether anyone has actually been for this? I can't imagine spending so much time being scared of something which is all around us and so much part of everyday life.  There is a course at London Zoo - although it is booked up again this year. My husband is terrified of them by the way - he reckons that was one of the reasons he married me. He watched me pick one of the large house spiders out of the bath one morning and then watched, from a safe distance, as it disappeared up my dressing gown sleeve and decided that I would be a great asset!

Taz - thanks for the link,    maybe worth a try, but all courses full for this autumn, when spiders at their largest!  I haven't had any in this flat, since closing the windows and plugging up the bathroom.

Ellie, I know how you feel, I jump out of my skin when I catch sight of a tomato leaf!!

Just as well Mrs P isn't putting smiley spiders on here!  P xx

Just had a glass of wine to settle the nerves, will have to start bedroom survellience and lemon pledge sprayathon shortly in case any Henrietta spiders about!

I tried hypnotherapy for my creepy crawlie phobia. Didn't work as I am still afraid of insects in general. Stupid I know but can't help it. I'm a nightmare abroad with frequent jumping and screaming and flapping of arms.

It does work for some people. Either I'm resistant to hypnosis or he was just a rubbish hypnotherapist.

Pixie I have looked everywhere for lemon pledge, can you tell me where to buy it please.

I've only got the ordinary pledge which I think has some lemon in it and not the same in the picture when googled it! Will go to Wilkinsons as they sell furniture polish! Perhaps they have sold out!!  At least you have hubby to protect you. Hope you are not still by that large open fireplace.

I got web face again today when walking between the fence and shed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  All over my hair as well, the web is so damn sticky, I couldn't get it off despite much frantic brushing of the hair with my hands!! Anxiety levels went through the roof!!
Note to self: walk with waving stick in front of face in future

I hate that purplenanny but only because it has destroyed the spiders web which it spent all of 20 minutes making the night before

I know Taz- they are so clever and really intricate. I can happily watch a spider making it's web (from a safe distance) but I really do not like it over my face!

If you buy this lemon pledge are you going to clean your furniture every day with it or just spray it in the air?

I'd even be tempted to use it as a body spray as well if I thought it was safe to do so!
I'm sure the damned things wait till I'm in the house myself before they make their presence known. Think they sense the fear and they are just torturing me for the sheer hell of it.
