Beef Wellington with wee roast potatoes and tomatoes followed by apple pie and double cream. All courtesy of M&S. No calorie counting in our house!

Stuffed peppers with brown rice carrots and curly kale. Rhubarb sponge and custard, all courtesy of me
Does anyone else's husband/partner cook them a meal? Mine just will not, even when he is on holiday from work

Chilli con carne.
My OH cooks if he's not working at weekend as he quite enjoys it and I like a rest from it.

Quite frankly I'm grateful he doesn't cook because on the rare occasion he does it's virtually inedible.
He now fends for himself in the main because I refuse to cook different meals and he will not eat the kind of food my daughter and I like. Think because there's not enough fat in it!

Lamb chops, potatoes and green beans.
All cooked by OH
He's retired and I'm not, but he's always done the cooking. Says it relaxes him. I'm all for him being relaxed

My hubby doesn't cook. I think he has cooked me something once - and I mean once! If I'm ill, I still cook but he says he'll "just have something quick" as if that helps me
Tonight he had sausage, chips and bread
I had roast salmon fillet with roasted veg and extra carrots, broccoli and green beans
Son had homemade steak and ale pie, spicy wedges, 2 yorkshires, carrots and green beans

I know - it's crazy isn't it? I was always of the opinion "eat it or go hungry" but the reality is different. I'm told my husband was a very fussy eater as a child and is getting steadily worse. He hates vegetables and anything with the slightest hint of a flavour and just lately, he's even going off sausages which were always his favourite thing!
The list of things I can give him to eat is getting very small. His favourite meal is breakfast - toast, jam and cornflakes (separately of course
)
Truth is, for some reason food frightens him. He doesn't look forward to meals like I do. He worries about eating out too. He's not a thin chap but what he does eat is not particularly nutritious.

Some of us are live to eat and others are eat to live.
The two men in my house love food....daughter and I are not that bothered.
I do try and feed us all the same but daughter does not particularly like red meat so sometimes she has something different.
We are having homemade beef and mushroom pie tonight and we will all eat the same although at different times
Its never straightforward.

We're having jacket spuds, low fat sausages and a vegetable fricasee -which I better get my finger out and start making soon.
We don't do fussy eaters in our house - never have. DH will eat anything except cucumber, parnips and swede. Daughter doesn't like baked beans. Son (who no longer lives at home) used to be quite fussy but now eats anything I put in front of him when he visits.
I will never cook separate meals for people. Since mine were babies I cook a meal and if there's something they don't like then they just eat everything else. They eat it or go without ... no alternatives. What a cruel mother I am.
