There are a record number of wildfires burning in the northern part of the province and Quebec. Subsequently, the residual smoke has been filtering south via northwest winds, and as a result, our air quality has been poor the entire week.  There is a haze in the distance and the sunrises and sunsets look like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie. Today it's forecasted to be the worst day of the week for polluted air.  Anyone who has respiratory issues, the elderly, and young children are being asked not to go outside.  The school boards have mandated recess periods and gym classes be moved indoors.  The winds are due to switch around for the weekend so the smoke will not be an issue.  We have had to close our windows to keep the smoke out. Thankfully it hasn't been hot so the house is comfortable without open windows.
