Shovelling the manure? My husband did that in our veg garden this afternoon - me - I decided to make some soup instead  ;D

However it was lovely sunshine this morning and again I sat outside in my vest top getting some Vit D and even had lunch outside it was so warm!  :sunny:

Also planted up my tubs with some daffodils and primroses to make it feel spring-like - but I know we will get some more winter later on!

It's colder now though....

 :)

My daughter can get out of her village at last! A raised causeway has been built over the flood water. They have been able to exit along a farm track and narrow roads that added an extra 20 minutes to every journey. A rather torturous journey, dodgy in the dark, but at least they were able to get to work. Their neighbour's child has been rather ill, needing several trips to the doctors. It's been very difficult for them.

They can't drink the water, not even to boil. Their water comes from a spring, which keeps being contaminated. As my little grandson has taken to drinking the bath water, my daughter has had to been inventive. She has bought a large squishy garden tub and fills it up with heated water imported from our house and friends. Makes you appreciate being connected to mains water.

The river that flowed through their village for the first time in 67 years is drying up. More dry weather please!

That's good news!  How long before the well will be clean enough to drink?

There are products on the market, bought from good walking/camping shops, that can clear contaminated water.  People use them for hiking in the Himalya etc., boiled water then these products ?

Today it's been drizzling - again!

They have been living there for about 3 years and on and off the water has kept failing tests. I think the problem is related to the amount of rain that we have in the past few years, so the farm yuck stuff gets into the water system. We now have a problem in our own village where sewage has got into what was a clean river. Such a shame. Has caused a health hazard for dogs and other animals. My daughter's village is really a farm estate. Lovely place to live and reasonable rent. The only issue has been the water, but normally ok to boil. We've got used to transporting water! The landlord would love to have mains water installed, but it would cost a bomb and I doubt the farm could support that kind of expense.

Farm 'yuk' should NEVER get into the water system, spring water or otherwise  :o - this is for the envionrment agency to deal with!  Hopefully this country will get it's act together regarding water problems - look at the Dutch, no problems there and the whole country is below sea level !

Pouring again today!
