Wind gradually dying down at last. Very icy out though. As for hanging out washing, mine would have been in orbit by now.  I didn't even venture out to tumble dryer.

Ice storm in Texas tonight. Temp was 75 yesterday, 33 tomorrow!


Hmmmmmmm.....what are chooks??

Chooks = chickens    ours are egg layers.  The 1st 3 purchased 7 years ago were hybrids, bred for the sole purpose of laying eggs, 300 each a year  . The next 3 are pedigree so don't lay as many and are more grumpy when in moult

Boston in Lincs was flooded  all that way from the sea - about 2 miles if I remember ........

I'm about 10 miles inland from Coast so no probs here except a couple of trees down in our horses field.  I've taken dog out this morning and there are a few wooden signs and noticeboards down.

However, on the coast there are wrecked beach huts, a couple of bungalows washed away and large sections of the promenade knocked down.  Some shops and businesses have been flooded, as has the lifeboat station.

One Lifeboat station has been swept into the sea  on the East Coast!  I remember in the 1980s when the pine trees along Wells were shattered by bad weather ........ we spent many hours playing there as kids    .......... over the bank from the car park which is now a caravan park and into the dunes ..........

Just down the road from where we went away in February - also some lovely little houses along a stretch called "the Marrams" - so sad for all the people that owned property there

I thought that these were holiday homes though, one man has said it was his permananet address  .  We walked along Sea Palling earlier this year, wonder what happened to those properties with only a sand bag between them and the sea!

It's bitterly cold here today and has been trying to snow off and on all afternoon.
No wind at all today which is great.

Nature in the raw.  Those left behind will be picked up by the Sancturies.  Sadly the Sea Live Centre at Hunstanton was washed out, critters required moving

pink where the planes are flying over as the sun sets ...... you know, the trails of 'steam' from behind

Dull, but quite pleasant temperature wise. Planes here don't have contrails, too much cloud cover.
