The Estring is a ring Hurdity which is why it is possible to have an internal examination with it in. There is a hole in the middle so that menstrual blood can escape.  Have pm'd you a link.

Hi, It is a soft bendy ring, you slighty squeeze it together and pop it in. i dont push it  further up, just in and it sorts itself out.. Yes it sits sideways like a loop, so the top of the loop is nearer the cervix the bottom of the loop towards the outside and that is what you hook your finger in to take it out... I was advised by doc its fine to take it out and in, if that suits me, and that it still does its job. also for me it gave me confidence that if i had any bad feelings i could whip it out.. so for me.. its doing its job i guess.  Obviously you wash it after every use, in cold water, as its the warmth of your body that triggers it to release but im guessing. I leave it in the air to dry as wrapping it up in bags might cause bacteria..  i have read that you could loose it down loo if you were straining, so safe bet take it out, as who would want to use it after its been down there lol.. the only thing i would mention,  when i first used it i found it quite uncomfy, but persisted as i think you gotta give things a fair go, and where was i going to go next, only backwards to other things i had tried before... and now i have times i know its there and times i have to think did i put it in or not lol...

I was coping very well indeed thanks to Vagifem 25 x twice weekly.
Then they changed it to 10mcg x twice weekly.
Now, I am not coping at all. :'(

hey, cheer up, talk to your doc about increasing from twice to more times a week, see what suits you. we have all been there. it seems its all trial and error and in the end its what keeps you feeling good, it isnt the same for everyone..  x

I just posted somewhere else about this.
I've been diagnosed with atrophy (though we are also checking out other things) and was in a fair bit of pain. Have been on Vagifem for about 5 weeks and am seeing a slow improvement but it still comes back now and then. I've found that a 10- 15 minute soak of my bits in warm water and coconut oil when it flares up takes away the pain completely. A morning dunk sets me up for the whole day!

hi notpastit, from one who is lol.. if you do find out why the improvement is not constant let me know. as although i now use the estring, i do find it almost if i have a cycle of improvement to discomfort, not sure why. i have discussed it with the doc who doesnt have any idea either..  My daughter who recently had a baby, was advised for soreness after birth 4 drops each of tea tree and lavender in her bath. dont know if it would improve atrophy, but thought i would mention it, for anybody that might find it useful.

I am only now suffering from vaginal dryness, seven years after taking oral HRT. It even hurts to sit on any hard surface! Tried oestrogen cream but it made my heart race and couldn't sleep. Using KY Gel at moment. Keep waking up sweating and 'feel' something is missing in my body. Have absolutely no sexual desire and feel really yuck most of the time. Still taking Kilogest which was wonderful before but Doc said that maybe my body is used to it and it's not working the same as before. Don't know what to do. Feel at my wits end.

hi suzi, what dose have you settled on for the vagifem now, I have been reading back the articles on how they consider the higher does not safe, and was just wondering what does everyone is using a week of this now.
