HI Susan
I looked as did my fab GP there is NO proven scientific evidence to say  Yoghurt has any effect of anything
Its good for you in general but wont cure cystitis and defo not THRUSH
Its become an almost Urban Myth like Cranberry My GP and GYNY said slapping it on your fanny will only help like a BALM
Its a dead product like Collagen unless youve got live collagen injection the creams you put on your face are daft
My Bro in law worked on this stuff and explianed when Collagen creams etc became all the rage just putting dead cells
As for anitbis yep 95% of the time I get an attack of Thrush so I only use them when theres abso no choice
I get nervy cystitis any stress goes straight to my fanny and bladder I use ADs for that
Hope your feeling better now heyyyyyyyyyy :P :P :P :P :P :-* :-* :-* :-*

Thats exactly what GP said if you go on to a myriad of normal sites they will say exactly the same
It cant hurt but it does nothing except make you feel a right pratt hehehehe
I take 25m too and over the last 2 and a half years after the initial Ive probably out in about 10 extra ones not bad really
Oddly enough today Ive a feeling of wanting to peee and a bit of pressure over my lower abdo?
Not stressed I dont think cant sleep but its been a while now since an iffy day so maybe this is it
Not putting a Vagifem in its due tomorrow so I will just wait its not that bad not running every 5mins its mre pressure over lower abdo than wanting to wee get drinking my lemon barley heheheheh

NHS says no  ;D

"Although using yoghurt won't do you any harm, there's no evidence to suggest that it will relieve the symptoms of thrush or help treat it and it should not be considered a main treatment.
If you want to try using plain live yoghurt, one method is to smear it directly over the vulva to ease any soreness or irritation and then insert it directly into the vagina.
The easiest way to do this is to use a tampon with an applicator. Push the tampon back inside the applicator, add about one teaspoon of plain live yoghurt to the space and insert the tampon in the usual way. Remove the tampon an hour later. "

Hi girls
Hubby and me both used vaseline last night and for the first time in a while all was okay.  Such a relief, was starting to dread attempting it! x ;)

Ovestin cream now, much better.  I didn't like Replens at all but I won't go into that. I used to get thrush but not so much now since using the cream.  :)

I started with Vagifem after a smear when the nurse said that I was a bit dry.  It gave me some anxiety and migraine headaches.   :( I had a break from it in the summer because of the headaches and when I started it again, it seemed to be working but I was still sore and had discharge. My GP prescribed Ortho Gynest estriol cream which helped a little but it made me drowsy at half the recommended dose. Also the vagina felt swollen and the ring of sore skin at the entrance was still there. I read an article by Carol Leonard entitled "Remedies for an unhappy vagina" and tried Vitamin E suppositories which did make things more comfortable.  When the soreness was bad I had salt baths (a generous amount of table salt in bath or portable bidet) and steroid cream prescribed by GP.

I am updating this post as I have since visited a menopause clinic and have been prescribed a low dose estrogen patch and am using this with progesterone cream.  Feeling much more comfortable. :)

They are by Carlson and Amazon sell them. I have read that a lot of women are pleased with them, they are not a new remedy.

Hi all,
I had a break from vagifem for quite a while, then when I went back on it I could't seem to tolerate it. It seemed to irritate my bladder really bad, made my heart race and made me feel nauseous. I also felt really jittery. I did have a bad bout of thrush though at the same time. I had only just started taking it when I got wrongly diagnosed with a uti so took a 3 day course of antibiotics, then a couple of days later a capsule for thrush. Funnily enough I didn't notice the symptoms during this time except for a racing heart. I missed a couple of days out while my body recovered, then when I used it again I felt terrible, I felt really tender and sensitive inside and my bladder area seemed irritated and sore, my heart was racing and I felt nauseous. I have now missed a day out of using vagifem. Has anybody experienced this from Vagifem? I told the doctor in the walk in centre who told me to carry on using it as I have used it in the past without any problems, but I am scared of symptoms also think thrush is back and gonna use cream tonite.

Worried Di  :'(

Hi Bracken,
If you happen to notice this post could you please let me know what symptoms you experienced when you found that vagifem irritated you?

Thankyou
