Are you living in canada? Just been there for three week holiday and couldn't even get paracetomol out there! So can understand why Vagifem could be a problem. worth getting it though as it really does work wonders on the Av. I can walk without pain now and no longer have every toilet marked on a map! Still not sure about the sex bit though . Still haven't had enough confidence to go there.

I don't know - Mine used to go in right up to the hilt though I had to wiggle it around a bit to go past the slight prolapse which I have.

Pammie perhaps you might be a little shorter than average down there?  ??? Well we're all different aren't we?  ;)
I must admit I have to wiggle my ovestin applicator around a bit to get it right in. I suppose that means my innards are prolapsing too!  ::)
Oh the joys of getting older...

I have to wiggle mines too, maybe more like push things out the way. Hoping it's not a prolapse, but i'm going to get a check hopefully tomorrow.

I think that a high percentage of women do get a slight prolapse of some kind or another - my doc didn't even mention mine to me. After the gynae told me I had one I queried this with the doc and she said "it's normal really at your age".

Can't stop thinking about Mr Bean's Christmas turkey scene.

Although that'll be me getting my smear, shouldn't laugh.

Right I evedently dont have a prolapse of any sort I thought I might have
My Vagifem aplicator goes in straight as a die like BUTTER in like Flyn right to the hilt
Theres nothing in the way no wiggling just one two 3 in and out
As for 3 month break to me thats like a binge drinker drink madly then stop
My baby brother died 6 years ago from that the Specialist said thats worse than good old fashioned alcy more damage done
If your GP is so determined against all written medical advise not to give you Vagifem unless you have a break BIN HER
As for the cost of Vagifem in Canada dont eat takeaways dont go to the pictures give up things
Cos the pain is so bad that Id have willingly sold my soul to the devil to get rid of the pain
Vagifem for me has worked my worry is that like all things it has a life and one day it will stop working  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Hello ladies, from across the pond in NY state! I came upon this entertaining and informative forum while searching for info about Vagifem. My gynocologist gave me some samples to combat my initial complaint about ongoing bladder inflammation - which like others here does not always test as a UTI. She explained that menopausal dryness can cause the bladder problems too.

I am 49 and have been in menopause for a few years now; since I have not been blessed with a sex partner/playmate for 2 years ago my libido has gone to sleep. It does wake up when a guy is in the picture but there hasn't been one lately. So dryness is kind of off of my radar.

It seems like I have to do SOMETHING. I'm tired of feeling AWARE of my bladder - I mean, I don't even want to feel the elastic on my panties on my belly longer than I have to on a given day! (Since I also have diverticulitis I am so aware of everything below-the-belt.)

Anyway I am scared of taking the plunge with the Vagifem (literally and emotionally!) but this forum is making me feel like it might be the right thing. I've never in my  life taken hormones - never went on The Pill. I'm always afraid of side effects.

Wish me luck & thanks!!!
