Ohhh Birdy, I'm really sorry.
it's never an easy thing to do, it's totally heartbreaking.
If he wasn't keen on out door life, then get him cremated. That's what I'd do.
I'm really sorry, thinking of you. xx

My 3 rabbits and 3 cats are buried in the garden.  There wasn't room for the dog  ::) so she was cremated.  I scattered her on would have been her birthday in her favourite field that will never be built over.

What's up with the Vet.  :-\

If you are not happy with the vet Birdy then find another one. I wasn't happy with the vet who was looking after my little dog and when the time came I had to go to an emergency vet. I was really worried but they were lovely with us and I was actually glad that we went there instead of to the usual vet.

So sorry Birdy,i hope you get to the bottom of what is wrong with your cat,
You are right, vets always seem to choose the most expensive option first
They sure know how to charge, and vets used to do a second consultation free of charge if the treatment was ongoing, now my vets at least charge everytime i walk in with them ?32 upwards
I have 2 cats having dental treatment at the moment and it has cost me almost
?500 already, and now mention of a biopsy even though one had blood tests which came out clear, they are both 11,
Hope your little cat gets the best treatment

It could be an ear infection .......... but an MRI shouldn't be necessary as there are drugs that could stabilize the condition.  Certainly the profession, unregulated, seems to be more money oriented.

What does your gut tell you Birdy?  Is he distressed?  Difficult to watch, my friend's cocker had labyrinthitis ...... the 1st Vet said it was a brain tumour without any inventions!  My Vet took one look at the dog, put him into a dark area dn did the investigations: i.e. looked into his ears and eyes - and he was given bed rest in a dark room and appropriate meds. He lived another 5 years  :-\

You made the correct decision however hard.   :'(. ...........  ........ Did he have lymphoma?  That's what my dog was treated for, with chemotherapy.  Diagnosed via a biopsy after I had found glands in her neck  :-\.  But she didn't die from that but from a long standing back complaint.

Thinking of you.  It is so hard .............

I'm so sorry Birdy, sending you a gentle hug.  But you gave him the kindest gift by letting him go.  He will always be in your heart and you have loveley memories to remember of him.

Today would have been my boy's 14th birthday, we lost him in May, have been trying to keep busy.

My heart wrenches for you, Birdy,
no one knows the rawness and depth of such a loss unless they have animals they truly love and consider to be far more than just pets.
My throat tenses as I write.... Monkey's memory will be etched in your heart as long as you shall live.

God indeed has angles ...
they come in disguise.

Oh Birdy...
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
I'm glad I walked
This World with you.

My boys are hitting that age too...my heart breaks for your loss.

IF I SHOULD GROW FRAIL

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain does keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done
For this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad I understand
But don't let grief then stay you hand.
For on this day, more than the rest
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please let me go.

Take me to where my needs they?ll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must now be you
Who has to decide this thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

CLKD...That was beautiful.  Tears streaming down my face right now.  Losing a pet(s) is the most wrenching experience.   We ask so much from our pets and they give it voluntarily.
