I'm consumed with anxiety, jealousy and insecurity
« on: November 05, 2025, 03:48:56 PM »

I'm not sure how long I have been Perimenopausal. I started hrt about a month ago. But I feel so anxious at the the thought of my husband interacting with other women. I worry if he's nipped in the shop for a loaf of bread, I worry if he has to make a phone call to sort out the insurance.  I worry if he picks up his phone or watches TV. I dont think my marriage can survive much more of my nonsense.  Has anyone else experienced this bizarre mental torture? I'm really struggling to cope. I just keep hoping I will feel better once the hrt has had chance to work.

Yep.  Hormones can cause all kinds of oddities!

:welcomemm:  How old R U?  When was your last period?  Mine waxed and waned for several years - a few months of regular bleeds then it would disappear ......

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress.

Which symptom did U want to ease with replacement therapy?

Men often don't understand what happens to us during these years so start the conversation: "Have U noticed any difference about me in the last 3-6 months because I'm concerned ... " mayB a starter.

I'm 48 and still have regular periods although my cycle is now around 26 days instead of 28. The anxiety is the main symptom I hope to sort out, and also to slow down my suddenly influx of wrinkles. He does understand it's a menopause thing bless him but we seem to argue every day now, caused by me. After decades of a very happy marriage.

The phrase 'stand well back and duck' ?  How were you pre-menstrually, issues that I could deal with until the few days B4 a bleed, would suddenly be the biggest problem in the World so I would flare with my temper!  DH could chart my cycles easier than I did !

Have that talk with him?  Get his view point, he may not notice as much as you think that U R raging ;-)

Anxiety can be eased by HRT which may take a while B4 U notice any differences.  There are anti-anxiety meds too which can also help alongside replacements.
