Hi. I would really appreciate some advice.
My GP has agreed I can switch to continuous HRT rather than the cyclical I have done for the last 3 years, but has given me no instructions on how to do this.
Do I have to wait until after my next bleed to start this?
Also, my GP has said I can switch to taking it daily. I’m sure I’ve read 25 days and a 3 day break.
If anyone knows how to do this, I’ll be grateful as my GP contacted me by email so no chance to ask questions.

You can just start taking it daily, you don't need to wait.

Remember the progesterone dose for continuous use is generally half that of cyclical.

There is the option of having a 3 day break each month or just taking it straight through. This is down to personal choice and doesn't affect any health outcomes.

This break may result in some bleeding - generally this option is sometimes chosen by those getting persistent irregular bleeding on continuous, as it can allow for a more regular pattern.

However if you are bleed free anyway on continuous there is little point in having a gap fof 3 days.

If you wait until your bleed you'll start off with a thin lining so personally I would wait. If you're still late peri the 3 day break can be useful as it allows a bleed if there's been a build up. If you're meno most people just take it every day.
