Hello ladies.
As some of you may know I am having a hard time with low mood and anxiety but I am doing my best to carry on!
I finally managed to get a copy of the letter written by the Consultant I saw in April. He thinks my Oestrogen is fine, has suggested CBT for my mood problems and also thinks I should now use Lutigest 100mg progesterone pessaries every night instead of Cyclogest 100 mg on alternate nights. He has recommended this to make sure that my womb lining is sufficiently protected.
Since my appointment I haven't been able to use the Cyclogest every night as I don't have enough pessaries and I can't get any more until next month ( they were prescribed by Newson Health). I now wonder if I can have Lutigest prescribed by my GP?
I am going to try and speak to my GP next week but I wondered if anyone here has used Lutigest?
I am a bit concerned that using these every night will cause my mood to dip even further ( as if that's possible), but on the other hand they may have a calming effect and certainly I haven't had much luck with varying Oestrogen amounts so perhaps more prog is the answer?
I am clutching at straws here ladies but I need to keep trying everything I can as life at the moment is a bit pants.
I would appreciate any comments as always and I wish you all well.
K.
Hi Kathleen,
From what I can gather Lutigest and Cyclogest are the same Prog except Cyclogest can be taken vaginally or rectally whereas Lutigest is vaginally only.
I’m on Cyclogest 200mg rectally on alternate nights giving me the 100mg on a daily basis.
It’s the only Prog I can tolerate and I certainly haven’t had any issues with low mood, only a bit of constipation which is ok.
My gp prescribes Cyclogest on nhs but only with letter from private meno consultant on a 3 monthly basis.
You could ask gp if they’re happy with a copy of the letter you have from April? X
