Menopause Matters Forum HRT News
« on: April 16, 2023, 12:00:12 PM »

I have just sent a message to forum members regarding HRT dosage concerns, and information about the Spring issue of Menopause matters magazine. Unfortunately, the Forum newsletter function seemed a little strange and has sent the email 4 times! Please do accept my apologies for this error. I hope that one of the messages is useful!
May I also take this opportunity to thank our forum users for all their support for each other, and for Menopause Matters.
With very best wishes to you all.
Heather Currie

Hi Dr Currie, thank you. I haven't got any emails though. Do I have to subscribe to the newsletter?

Very strange--all forum members should have received it, anyway this is what I sent....

Concerns over very high HRT dosage

Concerns have been raised about the safety of very high doses of estrogen in HRT regimens prescribed by some clinics https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11927783/Is-Britains-foremost-menopause-doctor-risking-womens-lives-alarmingly-high-doses-HRT.html

Women can be reassured that HRT can provide many benefits when used in licensed doses, with it being very unusual to require higher doses. The British Menopause Society and other professional bodies have also issued a joint safety alert.

Hello Dr Currie

Thank you for alerting us to this item.

I saw an NHS Consultant recently who spoke about upcoming changes so I was aware that some information would be available soon.

Thanks again and best wishes.

Kathleen.
