in areas which are currently 30mph. That's Green then ............
Instigated to start in September 2022. Imagine those lorries. Apparently cyclists have been whizzing past cars in queues, of course they will be fined.

Apparently the Welsh government thinks that 20mph will lessen injuries in any accidents. However, we were in a restricted speed zone: 40mph: recently but other drivers dashed by, by swerving away from our vehicle which is dangerous, especially if they aren't concentrating. I have made suggestions to the Police about the dangers ........

What suggestions have you made? It's interesting reading about the pros and cons of such schemes. Southampton has many areas now where 20 mph is enforced. I haven't read the Wales news yet. Is it to replace all of the 30mph zones?

Lots of 20mph zones, in our local town. Doesn't seem to be a problem and drivers are compliant. I think when schemes are new it can take a while for people to get used to it.

It's only in built-up areas so is a huge benefit from a road safety aspect.

We have a blanket 20mile an hour through out our village even in my road, which is wide and straight. And do people keep to it? Even where a slow speed is sensible! No! No one to enforce it. Never see any police.

We're the same JuJu,we're rural but every now and then there's a small village, like ours and it's 30 but you should hear the speed of the cars,so dangerous especially as there are a few folks who's drive comes out on a bend but speeders don't think about that
