I shall watch Alan Titchmarsh again this evening, his gardening programmes - a bit like his original with Charlie etc. - have been inspirational.  Then I think it's a deep bubble bath, an early night with an anti-histamine and Very Good Book!

Hairy Bikers are out on the road soon, with a live theatre performance.

I have said for years that they both need to shed a pound or several  ::) - I think we put too much on our plates each meal instead of judging what our bodies require ........... having a break this morning from the box in the corner  ;D

I used to admire the Amish people for their principles etc but the more I hear about them I'm not so sure. :-\

I half watched it while doing something else. I thought Miriam was very serene and beautiful. The children were delightful and seemed very happy. I was uneasy about something though, lots of things seemed too secretive. I didn't like the "smiley paddle" but I hoped she rarely used it.

I didn't see where they spoke to the husband, what was he like?

Mixed feelings really. I admired a lot of their values but didn't agree with everything.

I watched it. Interesting that they don't allow 'world' things like tv and computers. I wonder if living a more simple life makes for a happier life. They seem to spend a lot of time as a family doing things which I think can only be good.
What did you think of it Mrs P ?

It was my take also.  Bit like any regimented religious 'sect', if we think back to Oliver Cromwell who banned C.mas [good on him  ;D] and they wore plain clothing.  As well as the religions in the Middle Eastern regions.  However, sometimes I wonder if 'we' have gone too far the other way and that without the crux and boundaries of the Church, life is a little too free and easy so that people no longer take responsibilities for their actions.

Nowt on tonight either  >:(
