Exclusive by The Times.  Free LFTs are to end,  only to be available free for high risk facilities such as care homes.

No idea when this is to happen though.

We can't go on subsidising free kits ........ this whole debacle has to be paid for eventually, probably via higher taxation.

I wonder how many season flu sufferers there are right now  :-\

Higher taxes are already on the way but I expect our children will still be paying for it for years to come. I suppose the end of free LFTs had to come. Private ones are about £15 each, presumably these are a bit cheaper but we're still using loads of them.
My guess is that they don't let him in CLKD. Whether I'm right or wrong I'll sit under the heat lamp 8)  and go to sleep, you can have all the lambs that are still inside the ewes - 2am, big lamb, leg back, the back of my hand is a pretty shade of black and blue - and that was just the first night  :-\.
What is happening to the hats? Yesterday I had 2 hats, now there are 10.

 8). Minusminnie

And they all go into land fill!  infected or not.  There should have been a collection box for each household to dispose of clinical waste.

PPE destroyed ( Covid Winter 2021 into 2022 )
« Reply #81 on: February 02, 2022, 09:16:58 AM »

Cabinet minister Michael Gove has been defending the government's record on PPE purchases, following the news that billions spent on protective equipment has been written off.

He tells BBC Radio 4's Today programme the purchases were made when there was a "global race to secure PPE" at the height of the pandemic, with protests across Europe from doctors who were lacking protective equipment.

"We did everything we could to supply that equipment" he says, adding that 97% of the PPE was "fit for purpose".

The levelling-up secretary says there's been a "mark down" on items the government secured, because equipment was bought at the height of the crisis is now worth less.

But Gove says there are "always lessons to be learnt" about procurement – and the government is bringing forward a bill to make sure money is spent more efficiently in future.

Why was there a 'shortage' .......... PPE doesn't go off.  It doesn't have a shelf life.  We were in a State of Emergency and now apparently, some wasn't fit for purpose.  U really couldn't write it!
