Stopping HRT--does joint pain return?
« on: March 09, 2021, 03:01:01 AM »

Hi everyone

I've been on HRT for 3 years and it's been pretty effective but I'm lately I'm having a little breast cancer related anxiety (which I simultaneously believe to be unreasonable...brains...?!) and I'm thinking about how this all ends-- the HRT that is.

I feel so uninformed...I'd say I'm a couple of years into menopause and I'm wondering what symptoms might return if I stopped HRT? Like, are some symptoms transient and they pass with time (e.g. hot flashes, sleep disturbance)? Or will they all come back to stay? Are some more likely to than others?

I have no idea what to expect and frankly I don't want any of them back, even temporarily! But I also feel I probably need to give it a go at some point. The thing I am most worried about is the joint pain, especially my lower back/hips. I'm really interested to know what peoples thoughts and experiences are around this.

Thanks to anyone who's able to comment!
