Did you record it through the NHS site? It's the only way you'll get an official confirmation I think. Takes a while as you have to put your details in each time but it's all logged on your record so you can prove your status for care home visits etc. Can't see how it helps really as you can test positive later anyway.  ::)

I have a friend who's 41 and is on a respirator due to Omicron. Double jabbed but was waiting for the booster.Fit guy too. Thinks he caught it at the gym!!

That's a shame.  Unfortunately 'fit' and 'healthy' are not always the same thing.  Have you noticed how many top class athletes go down with nasty virus, such as glandular fever?

Yep, athlete's are often too fit - little resistance to bugs as they live in a quite a sports bubble.  Because they don't want to catch anything that will take them out of the Team, i.e. Mark Cavendish and G Barre Syndrome.  No extra fat on any of them  ::).  Once they stop exercising of course, the muscle mass drops off too.

How ill is your friend Taz?

Ill enough to be on a respirator for the last week but is beginning to recover now. His wife caught it but has had very few symptoms. She had had her booster three weeks before as she is a few years older than him

Problem with being inactive for any length of time is that the thigh muscles followed by other groups become weak very quickly.  Hopefully he will get physio if required once out of bed.

Yes I think they've got the recovery programme for covid patients down to a fine art now. Hopefully he'll recover as this is a milder illness and seems to work I a different way. Less likely to cause blood clots it seems from info so far.

Stunned by the new case counts in the province, just under 14,000.  The premier is to make a speech on what's next this afternoon. Me thinks more strict restrictions and closing of things like movie theatres etc. Will get word on the return to school situation.

It's a fast mover certainly.  Hopefully it will blow itself out or at least our bodies will become used to it which should lessen the effects.  R U looking forwards to a long break ? ;-)

If it's a long break, I might be put on emergency layoff again, like last year.

It's the uncertainty that is affecting people.
