I have a seringe of 5 ml and one sachet of Testogel or one pump Androgel fits in the seringe. I don't know how much gel one pump of Tostran contains.
With the seringe it's easier to get just a pea-size blob so it doesn't matter how much you put in. If you can fit a whole pump in the seringe then you don' t have to fill it as often. And you will have a a more accurate Idea how much a pea- size blob is approximatly  by looking at the measurments  on the seringe. If you need to change your dose at any time you can use those measurments.

I think you just have to give it a bit more time before you lower your Estrogel. It's possible that symptoms can get worse before getting better. And changing to much doesn't make it any better. But I understand how difficult this is....

hi alicess

i'd rather take daily as with the other stuff as i tried progesterone alternate and didn't suit and knowing my body tesosterone will be the same i need consistency i has no issues with the pill as this was the same daily dose except for the bleed break the flushes i can cope with it's the armpit and groin sweating i the heat it's worse . and my boobs got so bloody big

i've contacted gp so will await her to call
so i would put a pump in seringe and keep seringe in fridge does the medication need to be stored in fridge then ? and then i guess you would squeeze out a couple of mill so the seringe i have starts at 1ml and then goes. 1.5 2 2.5 etc but with trostan one pump is o.5g given 10mg testosterone so i've put one pump in seringe to see and comes to not even 0.5 ml so that isn't going to work ! but could mark half pump on pump which is what i do with my gel to get 2.5 pumps and apply this daily i don't know i speak to my doctor. x

I was on a testosterone in 2015 and as a direct result my hair started to fall out
I have since been diagnosed as having androgenic alopecia (male pattern balding).  Now off testosterone.

It doesn't matter what the seringe says a first, you can't compare dose like that. Don't start with a couple of ml. As the others also said just start by squeezing a pea- size blob. 10 mg testosterone to start with is too much. As I said Dr. Stubbs prescribes 3 mg for women to start with. I don't know if it's necessary to keep it in the frigde but I do it just to be sure.

I defenitly prefer the pill too but as you said you're not allowed because you smoke.

are u still on the estrogel ? how many pumps

do u take one pump of trostan every other day ?

did u get hair shedding on the gel prior to taking tesosterone and has tesosterone improved this x

Yes I use 3 pumps oestrogel
I use Tostran maybe 3x week, I say this because I always forget a couple days of hrt per week lately, for example since last Wednesday I missed Saturday and Monday and Tuesday, 2 of those days would've been Tostran.  I've become quite useless with my routine if hrt

My hair shedding started when I was on patches.  Testosterone hasn't made it worse but has improved the manageability of it x

hi alice's

i?m not sure that the testosterone is the cause of increased sweating though because i was sweating more in armpits and groin when i increased my gel from 2 pumps to 2.5 and as my levels were 435 pmol my doctor said not necessary to increase the gel but i was feeling like i has to much progesterone but since upping the gel week and half ago i've got more sweating and at night sweaty back which i had off hrt so at night i feel like i did off hrt and my boobs won't stop growing they hurt .

out of the trostan i can't measure a pea size blob because i won't get the same amount each time and tried to but it in seringe but just got stuck to the side as it's not that much gel .

which was why i was thinking half pump but everyday i know it would give me same dose but be less at once and more consistent but i suppose overall will make no difference

hi annie0710

has your shedding now improved since you have added tesosterone to the gel ?

i was on 2.5 pumps but started getting sore boobs and bloated tummy and increase flushes for some reason so have dropped back to 2 pumps and have a level of 435 pmol on this .
i also take progesterone 100mg daily cause i couldn't cope on estrogen alone bad aniexty moods depression irratic and loads of hair shedding has improved a little with progesterone .
when i take the tesosterone i am feeling s little nausea on it and tight ankles did u notice any increase in sweating when you started tesosterone i think personally it was the increase in gel so have reduced to 2 pumps and taking tesosterone every other day but to early to tell my menopause said i can also take half pumps daily as would be same dose but may suit me better as not as much in one go x so shall have to see

i've reduced the gel back to 2 pumps i?m less bloated and don trace as much armpit sweating i also find my hair getting increasingly greasy very quick even without testosterone and the more i up the gel the worse it is however not sure i can cope with watery discharge and may have to stop progesterone or go up in estrogel i just couldn't cope on it without progesterone ! i've noticed though her is causing my hairline to recede so may just stop it it's so hard to make a decision because menopause day up to me basically do what i want with the hormones i don't need progesterone as had hysterectomy but mood wise couldn't cope on estrogel plus my hair was shedding loads and loads . it's tuff knowing what to do for the best

it's really hard as what works for one person may not for the next person.

I don't need progesterone either but do tolerate it well.  But I don't use it.

Re hair shedding I do think genetics play a large part too and my mums hair went thin after menopause x

i was hrt free for 4 yrs since my operation and had no hair shedding and got thicker not thinner i think i?m going to stop hurt because i can't get settled on this regime and to be honest i shouldn't need progesterone but i've lost that much hair underneath my scalp is getting sore the only bonus is hair isn't as dry but lost so much even between sept last year and now x
