Not sure CLKD, made the appointment about three weeks ago, if throat feels ok tomorrow I may cancel.

Dancing class made me feel better, glad I did it.

I know the muscles are outside but sometimes I think we can confuse pain and it's source.  I had this with my back, feeling pain in lower back and coccyx, turned out to be a tight pelvic floor.  I think some of the soreness is inside but when I am anxious, I have to really concentrate on where I am actually feeling the pain.  I am sure my muscles are just sore and overworked from 6 weeks of tension!

I am sure it is better than it was a couple of weeks ago.  I feel brighter in myself too.

Throat not great this morning.  Not worse but feeling sore again.

Will not cancel my appointment on Monday.  I think I will ask about post nasal drip, possibility of anxiety causing it.   I feel such a nuisance as I keep going back.

Feeling fed up, hate this rollercoaster, good one day, bad the next.

The GP doesn't sit there thinking about you!  Take a list with your worries.

You probably slept with your mouth open ........... it hasn't got worse in recent weeks?

I have just come back from the doctor.  He was very nice and didn't seem to mind the ramblings of a menopausal woman!  ;)

He said that my throat looked normal and that all the blood tests had come back normal.  Glandular fever, full blood count and inflammatory markers

He said it could be a post nasal drip but feels this is mostly down to anxiety.  Sent me off to buy a Beconase nasal spray to use for two weeks and suggested I either try again with the well-being service or see somebody privately for CBT.

Feel a little relieved but it may take a few days to fully feel relaxed

Was silent reflux mentioned at all? I think this can cause a sore throat too.

Be ware of nasal sprays drying out the nostrils  ;D.  After the 1st week I found that use 'beconase' 2/3 times a week at night was enough.  At least your GP was listening - probably relieved that it wasn't another 'have I got the virus' patient  ;)

Marge, we talked about reflux but as It had not improved with almost a month on Omeprazole and Gaviscon, he felt that it was unlikely to be the cause.

CLKD, I don't like nasal sprays, I always use a saline one but he said that to just use for two weeks, so I see how I get on with it. Thanks

Let us know how you get on.  The mucus membranes can become sore if they dry out ......... trial and error then?

This is feeling like a neurotic post, did not want to start a new thread.

After the doctor on Monday, I have tried to focus on the fact that bloods were clear and no visible signs of anything wrong but hey!  I have health anxiety,  not so simple.

The past few days I have been worrying that maybe I do have reflux, even though the doctor thought it was unlikely.  Taking 20mg of Omeprazole each morning and Gaviscon after big meals and before going to sleep, could it be?

Will the inflammatory blood test show anything serious?  What if it doesn't

Tension in throat is still bad and throat , sore  and voice is croaky, post nasal drip?  Doctor said spray could take 10 days to work.

I know most of this sounds irrational but I cannot stop thinking what if?  And anxiety still bad.

I know many of you will understand this as you suffer with anxiety

Sorry for my ramble

I know it's a while since your last post on this Donnadoobie, but l was wondering if you ever got to find out what was causing your throat issues and if you were able to overcome them?
