Oh, I totally agree.
But at the same time if it's cheaper than the cost of a prescription (assuming you don't get for free), then why not stock up.
A bit like going to France on the ferry to get wine !!

;D ;D That's a thought, an HRT stall in the wine and fish markets. I dont pay for my scripts now as over 60 but im still working full time and paying alot into my NI so feel very entitled. I'm also now ordering my YES online (£37.99 for 30 applicators) as this is no longer a available on script at my surgery, I had a text telling me to get OTC. I cant use the tubes that are still available, the preservative irritates, even though organic.
Yes Cazikins, they have a new computer system, we dont even have to go to the reception on arrival, just log in to the computer and wait for the screen to announce your name when it's your turn, the same computer that's now deciding the amount of my medication!  ;D

Sorry, not an applicator I meant the small 5ml applications, they dont have the preserve in as sealed one off application. I'm ok with these but sting and get sore with the bigger tubes  I'm super sensitive I'm afraid.

We have a similar system to check for appointments. It is quite funny listening to the names of patients when they are called to see the GP. Some very strange and laboured pronunciations, particularly for foreign names.

Update on the last couple of weeks on 5 per week vagifem. Still using Ovestin every night and for the 2 days not using Vagifem, was ok first week then with all the anxiety of this had a massive flare up, not sure if atrophy or lichen flare up but im back on the steroid cream for a month. Anyway today I've ordered a box of vagifem from superdrug online for £40 so I dont run out on holiday and have my hols ruined, had to send photo of drivers licence and answer a few questions but otherwise ok, never done this before online so felt very vulnerable.
My repeat prescription is blocked until 1st Sept (button greyed out) so cant reorder if needed earlier. Hopefully when this box is delivered things will calm done as I think it's just the worry of not having enough  that's causing this flare up.
Has anyone ordered with Superdrug and was it ok?

Dierdre, yes I've ordered from Superdrug. Had to send a photo of my passport. It was sort of OK, but I wanted estriol cream and the tube arrived very bashed up. If I have to do it again I will use click and collect rather than the post.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing problem with Vagifem on repeat prescription, having to use online pharmacies is an expensive process. My estriol cream was £60! But I don't have it on repeat and opted to do it this way due to the near impossibilty of getting an appointment with the only HRT friendly GP at my surgery.

Hope your flare up calms down soon and that you have a lovely holiday.

Thanks Joaniepat, what a relief it's not some dodgy website.  Why do these things always seem to happen before a holiday when you're already anxious that you're not ill and ruin things for all going with you. At least I'll have enough now.

Hi replied to your post on another thread,i don't think our surgery has changed their computer system, and i don't order online,i just ring up,
Wont your surgery take into account that you are going to be away, and issue you some vagifem,
My daughter has ordered 2 lots of patches as she will be on holiday for 2 of the weeks she needs a new prescription for,and there was no problem with being issued with them

Yes, that might be an option but wanted a back up in case plus I still need extra anyway. Think I need to speak to the doctor but not sure which one is up on all this and also worried they will say no, i cant have anymore!

I got a tube of Ovestin from Superdrug Online. Had to answer a few questions. Didn't need to show ID or anything. From memory, ordered Thursday evening, delivered Tuesday morning by Royal Mail. Was supposed to sign for it, but Postie just put it through letterbox. All good  :)

Thanks pants46, Hopefully mine will come this week, just had a  email to say it's being processed and the doctor will review shortly. Obviously cant afford to keep doing this but it will keep me going for a while until I get back from holidays, then it's back to the doctors to see where I go from here as the current treatments are not enough and I'm sick of feeling sore.

Crikey.  HRT on the NHS is free after age 60  :-\ ........ shows how much people pay in mainland Europe!

Yes CLKD we are very lucky here,  I'm over 60 and get all mine free now, which is why I'm not happy having to pay online to get the extra amount I need.
You do get free medical insurance from your employer if on a contract in some countries though.
