But should not be taken with prescription anti-depressants as it apparently surpresses the active ingredients.  I don't understand the expression 'mild depression', 4 me it was sudden and floored me within 8 days.  From going from 'I feel depressed' I was at the GPs quite quickly.

Don't be too serious about 'witches'  ;D - I was raised in the 1950s when it was a common expression for someone who gave support outside of the GP surgery.  Nowt to do with witch-craft which is totally different.  Also there are white and black witches. Apparently.  She was also known as "Granny" as she always seemed really really old  ::)

I accept your explanation but can't see it's relevance to this thread or the Alternatives section in general.

I take concentrated fish oil Stellajane. It's a natural way of treating anxiety and depression. It's also great for joint pain, brain and heart health and makes a difference to hair and nails. I wouldn't be without it x

I did hear a programme on radio 4, many moons ago, where a GP preferred to recommend omega 3 instead of prescribing statins.

I have just remembered this so will have to do some research.

Thanks AgathaC,. Could you just tell me which probiotic Dr Newson mentions?  I take Optibac Everyday Extra plus a vit D combo.  I've read a lot recently about gut microbiome being key.

Yes, and apparently very important as to whether you gain weight or not.

The book called The Mad Diet is excellent. It is written by a nutritionist and recommends the supplements of Magnesium, B vitamins and Omega 3 as well as a good diet.
