Bleeding?
« on: November 30, 2018, 10:08:55 PM »

Hi Ladies.
Me and OH were intimate two nights ago, and this morning when I got up
I had really bad bloating, and pain all around my middle area including my back.
Had breakfast, took two painkillers, and the pain went.
Now just been for a shower after walking the dog and I'm bleeding.
Not bright red, just looks like the end of a period, you know, dirty looking brown stuff.

The pains gone, just feel a little belly achey, nothing much. Like before a period starts.
Never had anything like this before, should I get checked out, or wait and see what happens again next time?

For those that don't know, I'm nearly 4 years post meno. Been on hrt since Feb this year.

Thanx.......

I you are on conti HRT then some break through bleeding can occur.  A bit of brown spotting is probably nothing to worry about but if you do get some proper bleeding then this should be investigated.  DG x

Could you have a polyp which bleeds on contact?  That happened to me when having regular periods but shrunk at peri  ::)

Also, if you have vaginal atrophy then contact can cause the symptoms you describe: spotting, a feeling of pressure because there are a lot of nerve endings down there.  I have slow transit which produces similar symptoms.

Whoever designed women thus needs a  :kick:

Hi JD, Defo get it checked out if this has come out of the blue. Probably nothing to worry about anyway but these things should be run by your doctor for advice.
Let us know how it goes.

Thanx ladies for the reply's.

The spotting has stopped now, but I've got horrible period pains, (brings back memories..)
So I've invested in some panty liners, just in case......it feels like the bleed is going to happen, if you know what I mean.
Christ knows what's going on now, if it ent one thing it's another, I'm really fed up!

I'll have to book in with doc Monday. See what she says.....

Thanx again..

Hi Dotty.
It's been since August, I think.
Started it straight away, 1mg. (Sandrena)

I've had to take two co dyramol tonight, for the pain, just like I used to have
every month when my period started.
It wasn't that bad earlier, but just before I started our dinners, it came on again.
I'm not bleeding nor spotting now, just feel like I'm on a period.
Wheather the spotting starts again, is anyone's guess.

No Stellajane, I take femoston conti too.
Just use the Sandrena for extra oestrogen.

Just came back from walking the dog, and went up for my shower,
and it's started again, more dark red blood this time.

Breakthrough bleeding can happen for up to 6 months of taking a new hrt. X

jillydoll - if you are using extra oestrogen on top of the combined HRT pills then this could result in spotting or bleeding as you may not be getting enough progesterone to keep the womb lining thin.  It would also explain the cramps.
If you need a higher dose of oestrogen then it might worth having a Mirena fitted and just use more oestrogen gel. The Mirena is less likely to result in erratic bleeding.  DG x

Ditto what Dancinggirl said. In fact I now remember your asking about this when you started the gel and we advised that this might be too much oestrogen without sufficient progestogen.

You must definitely go to your doctor as it does sound like oestrogen breakthrough bleeding given your HRT regime and as such is abnormal and you might need extra progestogen to keep the lining thin.

Also any bleeding after sex should be investigated - although in this case it might be coincidence.

All the best and let us know how you get on at the doc?

Thanx ladies.
I'll book in tomorrow with doctor.
The bleeding is intermittent.
Had a bit this morning, then nothing much up to now.
What I can't understand is , it states that you can add a separate oestrogen to Femoston Conti if required. Which is what I've done, as doubling up the dose of the femoston to 2mg/10mg was too much and resulted in me having chest/breast pain.
Maybe it's just the absorption then or something?

But anyway, I'll get checked out, and let you know how I get on, hopefully, it's nothing to worry about.

Thanx again ladies for taking the trouble to post....much appreciated.......

Hi. Not much to add to what's been said, just hope you get things right soon.  I've had pmb also recently and it is so stressful and worrying.

Thanx Suzy Sunday.

I can't get in the docs until Friday, so will have to wait, although the bleedings eased
off now, more cramps than anything else at the mo.

Will post when I know what's going on......
