Testosterone assisting with hot flushes...??
« on: March 08, 2017, 05:33:51 AM »

I am 53 years, 2 years post menopausal. I am on 50mcg Estradot patch, vaginal prometrium alternative days continuous with no bleeding. I introduced testosterone cream 1 march. Before I started the testosterone cream, I still experienced some breakthrough hot flushes and night sweats at times which was my main symptom for starting hrt. Since starting the testosterone, the frequency of those have diminished to nearly nothing.

I read somewhere that testosterone can convert to estrogen in the body. Wodering now whether this is what is happening, hence the improvement on the ferequency of the hot flushes. Also whether this might be a contributing reason why my testosterone level was so low as it was also used to compensate for the lack of estrogen??

Any opinions on my theory or similar experiences?
