Hi everyone. I'm sorry I've not posted an update -in fact not been on the site much at all lately - I hit a pit of depression I couldn't shake because the last lot of treatment for coccyx didn't work - again - and I just lost the will....I know you ladies know where I'm coming from - the despair...
Anyway, today there is some light in the darkness. I've been having physio, but my usual lady has been off (ironically having back surgery). Today I saw her again finally, and she read my mri report. My coccyx is mobile and off to one side, inserting into the tissues and causing swelling and therefore the pain. Immediately she said we should look at your pelvic floor. Turns out the I have significant scar tissue inside from previous surgeries and the muscles on one side are extremely tight, which she was able to release - sat down afterwards - no pain! After all this time it seems it might be gynae related after all! She also noted how dry I am, and recommended I get vagifem which would likely also improve things. Its all starting to make sense - all this started with the menopause... its like a million light bulbs going off in my head! My pelvic floor technique is good apparently, and strong - but because of scar tissues I'm all lopsided!
Anyway ladies, sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to shout it out! Months of pain have left me in total misery, and fingers crossed this might be the answer. Is vagifem prescription only? I'm assuming so. I wonder if I'm taking enough oestrogen - how on earth do you know? I assumed I was on the right dose once the sweats stopped, but is there any other way of knowing?
