Not Sure What to do

Hi Guys.

I am currently taking my first pack of hrt elleste duet 1mg after very low estrogen levels of below 50 and fsh of 150. I have just turned 40. i have just taken the 16 day of white tablets and am due to this morning start the first of the 12 days of green tablets. My question is i have just had a bleed like a normal period so do i need to take the green tablets? and if i do take them will i bleed again? should i be taking hrt if still having periods? I would be grateful of your advises xx

Hi and welcome to MM booboo000
At 40 you are going through an early menopause and it's good you have been advised to use HRT. You are obviously still in peri menopause so your own hormones will fluctuate and drop gradually over the next year or two.  In the mean time the HRT will stabilise things but initially your own cycle may well have an influence, so I think this is what has happened.  I would definitely continue with taking the green tablets (progesterone with oestrogen) and you may get a slight bleed after your finish this but eventually the HRT will bring your cycle under control so you get a small bleed each month a couple of days after your finish the green pills.

 :welcomemm: from me too.  Go with what the prescription advises and don't worry if your hormones 'break' through the regime.  Keeping a mood/food diary can help too ……..
