Hi.  I tried the Ladycare Magnet when I started the menopause initially.  I did not seem to feel much different, however, to be honest, I only used it for a short time and not all the time.

I was in Boots today and the assistant swore by it and says she and her colleagues all use it with great results.

Has anyone else tried it and what would your feed back be?  I am well through menopause now.  Last period was almost 2 years ago.  Hot flushes had gone.  Night sweats and very painful joints and stiffness are my main problem.  I have just decided to try HRT (Evorel Conti).  Flushes are back inthe first week and my blood pressure is higher.  Other than that, pains gone and I am sleeping better.  I know it may take a time to settle, but if HRT is not suitable, then I would like to try the Ladycare again if there is a good report on it.

Fw50, if you type Lady care magnet into the search box, you will find loads of post on the magnet, some say good others say bad..

Hope your Hrt does work for you, my Gp told me it takes up to 3mths to kick in..x

Reviews are pretty mixed on here.  My GP said that anything involving magnets is not a good idea.  But some folk seem to have had some success.

Thanks ladies.    Trixby - I did laugh at the supermarket trolley.  I immediately imagined leaving with paid shopping and a trail of unpaid coathangers with clothes  .

Not sure why the doctor thinks anything with magnets are not good Joyce.  Top athletes use them.  My mother had a form of magnet therapy for ME about 15 years ago and she said it helped tremendously.  Hey ho.  Some doctors say not to use HRT and don't believe in some of the alternative therapies, so I guess it's what works for each individual.

I visited the doctor yesterday and she said the same about 3 months Rosebush.  I now have small blood pressure machine to check and the chiro is also going to measure my blood pressure before and after treatments (apparently chiro can be used to treat blood pressure too).  So, another step along the way.

I hope HRT works too.  What a relief it would be.  Certainly the excessive aches and pains are alleviated.  So I should be able to exercise more, lost weight more easily and in turn improve all round.

Wouldn't it be funny if there was a movie about a man switching to a woman going through the menopause for a couple of years?  A good writer and good director and the cinema would be sold out!

Yes, Trading Places.  I remember that.  It was funny.

Mel Gibson did the 'What women think' film and I liked that. thought it was funny but aimed at him being able to read the mind of women.

I do think the body switch at menopause would be funny.  Then again, I can have a weird sense of humour.

I've tried the Ladycare magnet myself and it didn't help me any. I've had hysterectomy with ovaries out and went into surgical menopause. It didn't help the flushes or anything for me. The only thing I can say about it was that it messed with my computer....kept rebooting or freezing my laptop when I had it sitting on my lap. Magnets of any kind are VERY bad for pooters!   So that's something to be careful of.

Hi Catherine.  Sorry to hear you had to have the full hysterectomy.

I don't need anything else to mess with my computer.  It is difficult enough to keep broadband consistent where I live!  So, thanks for the heads up.  I would never have considered that.

To be absolutely honest...my hysterectomy is one of the best things that's happened!    The meno part not so much...but don't regret the operation at all. I completed my family a long time ago and all the other problems I was having with fibroids, flooding periods and stuff were getting too much. No more periods...my sex life is a lot more pain free...it's all good  .

Yes...magnets don't like pooters very much at all...so it's good to remember. Even a magnetic bracelet can cause havoc.

I wore the Lady Care magnet for about a year, at time I felt it was helping and others felt no difference.  Then with meno you have good and bad days/weeks.  I don't use it now as I felt it made no difference. My friend swore by it and has used for over 2 years and had no ho flushes

It's good to hear that the magnet actually worked for someone! How long have you been using it for and how far into meno are you?
