I'm not really into musical type songs but it is a really good performance. It's always good to hear stuff you might not always take the time to listen to.

I went to see this guy in the week - tiny little venue with a really good atmosphere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmG1f5jf8zc   We chatted to him afterwards over a drink or two. Couldn't believe it was eighteen years since his band Gomez won the Mercury Prize.

Today I've mostly been reliving my youth.

Never heard of that band either coldethyl! Not sure what I was listening to back then! Was it the 1990's?

That would be mid eighties- they were my favourite band. My one regret in life ( well one fantasy regret) is that I didn't drop out of uni for a bit and follow them round as they were amazing. As Taz says they did Whole of the Moon which isn't their best song by a long shot. The upside of being menopausal is you get to be all nostalgic and teat eyed ;-)

I've seen them a few times over last few years. Sometimes good but his voice has changed so much and I don't really like the new stuff. I'd still say the first 4 albums were the best run of albums by any band though. X

Sometimes it's better to just play the old stuff rather than watch them changing I think - that's with most bands not just The Waterboys.

I'm going to this festival on Saturday all in aid of Mencap. So many bands plus quirky Steve Lamacq all for £15. Good times http://areyoulistening.org.uk/

Yes I find nostalgia a lot better than new stuff. That said I like a few newer bands and am off to gig in Hebden Bridge soon to see British Sea Power. Again. ( I think I've seen them 100 times now!)

Oh dear - I haven't heard it before! I saw when it was released and my daughter was a few weeks old and a difficult baby. Then over the years had a few more babies and spent most of the time listening at the baby monitor or for them maybe crying (or quarreling in different rooms!) Was listening to folk music mostly around then I think! Bands/acts that were on the circuit that performed in folk clubs.

coldethyl I haven't heard of British Sea Power either ... I don't seem to be well up on music do I?!

The festival looks good Taz - saw one of the bands at Larmer Tree last year :) Wow what a price! Enjoy  ::)

I have a friend who travels the world to see British Sea Power. He goes to every gig he can. I've never seen them though!

Hurdity - it's difficult to know who to go and see tomorrow. It's taking quite a lot of organising. I hate it when bands you want to see clash!
