Changing HRT regime after 11yrs
« on: January 14, 2026, 03:25:39 PM »

I'm 64 yrs old and about 11yrs post menopausal. The majority of that time I've been on a cyclical evorel 50 patch/ utrogestan 100 vaginally X 12 days every 5/6 weeks but not only am I fed up with the bleeds doing a cycle but I'm also finding utrogestan is completely wiping me out and every night I use it I'm dreaming more vividly and wake up feeling like I've done a full night's hard graft!! I've lost over 4 stone in weight and my night sweats have returned... most nights I wake around 2am drenched  :'( I think this is because my oestrogen has dropped because of the weight loss. So I know there's not a lot of choice to change HRT to and I was wondering what you ladies think would be suitable, I was thinking of the Femseven conti patch and asking GP to up the dose to 75 to compensate for the night sweats and lack of oestrogen? I'm not fancying the evorel combination patch due to the Norethisterone part of the progestin and quite frankly there isn't a lot of choice out there is there? Or am I missing something? Would femseven conti 75 patch be a good option at my age and stage of post menopause? Appreciate any help. Just want to stop the regular bleed cycle and be able to sleep soundly at night without wild dreams!! GP isn't very clued up about HRT so I would like to go fully informed with an idea of what I would like to try. Thank you

Hi Goosieloosie

Just posted about Femseven myself as I was thinking that it might be preferable to Evorel conti.

I can only find a Femseven conti 50 patch not a 75 (there is a Femseven 75 but it is just oestrogen)

I'm hoping there might be some people out there who know more.
