New & desperate for advice on Lenzetto
« on: January 10, 2026, 08:52:11 AM »

Hi Everyone,

I had a hysterectomy in Oct 2024 keeping ovaries.

I was on Oestrogel for months and months, starting on two pumps (which made me feel quite down) so was put up to three.

Felt amazing for ages and then not. Blood results showed I had developed tachyphalaxis so was advised to come off it so my oestrogen levels would go down.

I expected and was also told to expect symptoms like flushes to reappear while I was off of it. But nothing happened and I felt back to normal for the first time in ages since starting HRT.

I had regular blood tests via GP & privately to monitor and done everything correctly so there was no contamination. But my estradiol had shot up to over 1300 where I had the tachyphalaxis. I also tried patches and they literally would not stick. I tried everything. Got advice and tried all the tricks and they just wouldn’t stick.

Blood tests after being off of all HRT for three months showed a low level of oestrogen (156) which was a huge reduction to the 1300 level, so my specialist put me on Lenzetto.

She said to do one pump for two weeks then go up to two pumps. I have been on two pumps in the morning for four to five weeks now and my anxiety is through the roof. Panic attacks galore.
Really really bad overwhelming panic too.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I seemed fine on the one spray. I feel like I should drop back to one spray and wait six weeks and have bloods done and see what is going on.

I would love to hear from anyone who has also had anxiety from two sprays of Lenzetto. I was told one spray isn’t the normal starting dose like two. But I literally can not bear this constant panic!

Thank you x

Hi  :welcomemm:  which symptom would U like to ease first with HRT?

Could it be that your body doesn't require replacement?  Anxiety can rise in peri-menopause and if the HRT is causing panic, personally I would stop. As someone who has had anxiety and panic attacks for many years, I won't use anything that causes surges.

I expect that some1 with advice will be. along, you can put the medication name into the search box: read any threads that pop up and make notes ;-)

If you are looking for more stable estradiol levels you may be better with patches or tablets rather than seesawing up and down with gel.

I also don't believe it is necessarily the estrogen itself that is wholly responsible for you feeling anxious now, your provider/s have chopped and changed your dose multiple times, repeatedly carried out clinically unhelpful blood tests and conveyed messages of danger when one of these had in all probability captured ovulation given you still have ovaries.

You mentioned the patches not sticking well - I was the same when I used them for IVF and my preferred long term treatment is oral, however if you are really wedded to transdermal estrogen and believe the additional thrombotic risk of 1 in 5000 associated with tablets warrants persevering with non-oral treatment, I found I was able to keep a patch on longer by using rubbing alcohol to strip the skin of oil at the site, heat bonding it to my skin with a hand warmer, and applying a square of hypafix over the top.

Hi!

I'm sorry you're struggling right now.

Two years ago, at 49, I started having severe insomnia due to hot flashes at night.

I went to my gynecologist, who prescribed me Lenzetto 2 sprays and 1 capsule of utrogestan at nigt. My blood results before HRT were estrogen:16, progesterone 0.02. So, my hormones were close to zero.

I felt so bad that I couldn't get out of bed.

After 2 weeks of using 2 sprays of Lenzetto, I felt even worse. My anxiety went through the roof!!!

The anxiety was so bad that I thought I was going to die.

I had known anxiety before, but in this case it was something completely different, sort of chemical anxiety that completely paralyzed me.

It was so bad that I had to go to the hospital, where they diagnosed tachyphylaxis syndrome, because my estrogen levels had tripled in less than 2 weeks.

I reduced the dose to 1 spray, but the anxiety did not subside. After 1 month of using 1 spray, I was so weak that I could not even shower.

The gynecologist then prescribed me 2 more types of HRT and I must say that experimenting with HRT for several months completely destroyed me.

Today I know that I am a very hormonally sensitive woman and that unfortunately I belong to the group of women for whom no HRT suits them, in fact it harms them, due to the many side effects.

I am very, very disappointed and also furious, because only the positive effects of HRT are highlighted, and not the negative ones. It saddens me that HRT is presented as a miracle cure, but in reality many women do not find the right balance and are condemned to experimenting for several months or even several years with HRT.

I suggest you check out Paula Rastrick website.

She also had a very negative experience with HRT and explains why some women simply cannot tolerate HRT.

I think we should talk about this more and not push women to use higher and higher doses of estrogen, because very high levels of estrogen are not necessarily the answer to all menopausal problems.

Namely, when no form of HRT helped me, I felt like a loser, saying to myself, what kind of body do I have that hormones don't help me?

This experience was very painful for me and I felt completely alone, because I knew women who had HRT help them immediately and felt great on it.

After 1 year of experimenting with HRT I was devastated and in desperation I started taking AD mirtazapine, which helped me through the worst.

I am currently ok and functioning, confident that this nightmare will end someday.

I have only described my experience, which does not mean that it is impossible that you will not find the right type and dose of HRT.

I hope you find a solution as soon as possible and feel well again.

Sending you a big hug!

Love,

Emma
