I'll start by saying what most of us know, anyone with a womb needs to take some form of progesterone in hrt treatment and it's important to have proper medical advice.
With that said I took a break from progesterone for a short while to see if I could work out what was causing symptoms of fatigue and intermittent prolapse issues, plus diarrhoea intermittently.
While on oestrogen only the diarroea has lessened a lot, the prolapse symptoms are less and the fatigue, which is always there, is more 'stable,' in that it didn't fluctuate and I could predict what energy I had more.
So my conclusion drawn from this is I am reacting to progesterone, but of course I must have it. In addition my blood pressure was recorded recently as 150 / 90 and I've always had a healthy BP hovering around 125 / 80. The doctor thinks it may be a spike partly due to anxiety / white coat syndrome due to other concerns I have with medical issues, but still I need to record it for a while to make sure of this.
So I think the progesterone may also be needed to balance out BP while being vital for womb health. But I don't know for sure about the BP yet, it may be a separate issue.
Notably when I'm on the combined patch I get a lot of postural hypotension and it's quite significant. So again I am wondering if I just need less progesterone. I don't think it can be healthy for the brain when one's head is pounding for quite a bit of time on standing, I'm imagining not enough oxygen getting to the brain and causing slight incremental damage over time (I need all the brain I can get lol)
For this reason I will be booking privately for an individualised approach (thanks Bombsh3ll for previous thoughts on that) as I think the answer for me might lie in having less progesterone but under close monitoring. As I wish to have cyclical hrt I imagine having a 'period' will be part of monitoring womb health.
Just posting here for anyone's thoughts, I'm a bit anxious about the BP plus the requirement of having to check it now as imagining it being high constantly which will feed into other fears, but needs must.
Has anyone had BP at this level and then have it return to normal without meds?
