Return of menopause symptoms
« on: December 29, 2025, 03:54:52 PM »

I had the full blown menopause for twelve years. I then had a gap of eight years symptoms free so I thought it was over but in the last 6 weeks the symptoms have come back to torture me. I am 69 years old.

Hi.  It mayB that your ovaries are pumping out a small amount of hormone enough to trigger symptoms.

R U able to explain how these are affecting U?  Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary useful.  Also U could alter your user name ..........  :-\

What is bothering U the most?

Hot flushes, very little sleep. No energy so I haven’t been able to do my usual exercise routine. I spend most of the night tossing and turning so I end up going to another bedroom after a while to let my husband get some sleep.

MayB it's time for a VitD and thyroid function blood test, as as base line from which to work?  About 7 years ago I would so 20 mins weeding the have to sit; still; for 2 hours as I had no energy.  Blood tests showed that I was low in VitD despite spending a lot of time outside.

Flushes can be eased with HRT and I believe a couple of anti-depressant medications have been found to help.

What does DH suggest?
