Estrogen surges

Hi everyone.

I’m 56 and still in peri. Went 3 months last summer without a period , and for all of the 3 months I had copious amounts of discharge. Had an awful time of it from the beginning of the year until July with spotting and bleeding on and off all the time. The odd month without anything then back again to the spotting and bleeding. Then I’ve not had a period now for 138 days. Sometimes when I miss a period I’m dry as anything down there and then other times I have lots of discharge. It’s in the times of the lots of discharge that I have the erratic spotting and bleeding. I’m absolutely certain that I’ll have something else soon and I’ll have to start the countdown again. I feel at 56 it will never end for me 🙄

What are you counting down to?

Is there something in particular you are expecting to happen on the 365th day after your last period?

There are multiple treatment options that could both eradicate further bleeding and address the symptoms of hypoestrogenism, so you don't need to put up with any of this if you don't want to.

Yes, I’m expecting to be in menopause 365 after my last period.

I posted this to see if anyone else going late into menopause is experiencing the exact same thing.

I see my GP regularly. I know all about the treatment options. I posted searching for others in a similar situation. As I’m late going into menopause it can feel quite a lonely place sometimes.

It’s unhelpful comments like this that made me leave this forum before. I thought I’d give it another try to see if anything has changed, but I see that’s it’s not. People come on here seeking support. I’m back off to my Facebook group where you’re welcomed with friendly comments and advice and friendship

Sorry you have left again.

If you do read this know that there are those of us that actually felt much better when periods finally stopped.  I had a bad peri and finished finally at 57.  Life improved greatly once the hormone roller coaster stopped, which I believe it does for many.

I have never taken HRT and at nearly 70 have no regrets.  It's a personal choice.

Hang on in there and good luck.

I’m also 56 and experiencing similar.

There are lots of women who count the days to their final period. Some are very glad to see that back of them, even if that bring other issues along the way.

It’s a shame someone has felt the need to leave this forum and it’s made me feel a bit anxious or I’ve come to the right place for help and advice and support ??
