I wasn't suggesting  she go to the police. I was making sure people know that his behaviour is more that unacceptable, it is criminal. Some people seem to think it is a misunderstanding or miscommunication. No one should feel obliged to suffer an unhealthy relationship . I am shocked anyone would be enabling such toxic behaviour.

Garnet hasn't posted since the 29th November and she has not logged on since the 4th.

I really don't think this conversation is helping her at all.  Perhaps just leave it to her now as I think the thread itself is now upsetting.

I think the same. People have opinions however I believe in a more gentle approach as I feel from Garnetts post she is already suffering. People have different approaches but nobody knows what is going on inside someones mind. A harsh comment can push someone over the edge although that may not be the posters intention.

People can be fragile and I appreciate posting on this forum will mean everyone can give an opinion but just be mindful that person must be in a desperate situation to post on here.

I don't think anybody does think it's acceptable, some of us are concerned about the impact of some of the replies on the lady in question. It can be a shock. I hope she's ok.

It was the bit in this poor lady’s post about her husband planning to “ do her” in each country they visited. I’m visualising her trapped abroad with an angry sex pest.

I think the written word can be read / interpreted in many different ways, and you can't always ask for clarification, however there were a few things Garnet had written in the original post that raised alarm bells for many of us, and she did state that she has been googling divorce, which makes me think that she knows things need to change.
Some of the responses may appear to be harsh, and may be influenced by personal experiences or just different communication styles, but I think the over-riding factor is that everyone is concerned for this lady and is trying to be helpful / supportive. None of us want her to be suffering and in pain. Whatever happens I just hope that she is OK.

I started getting information from the estate agent online. I never moved out though.. I think I was trying to give my husband a jolt when other things weren't working.  I know someone who was googling suicide methods, I didn't know at the time, but he's still here fit and doing well. Sometimes when people are struggling and have nobody to ask for help,  Mr Google is too handy. The internet is too easy, some things on here wouldn't have been said face to face.  Enjoy your Sunday ladies.

Exactly my point.
No one knows what another person is going through in their mind.
I agree that this poor woman is suffering and understandably people are very concerned.
No one should have to be forced into doing anything that makes them unhappy married or not.
