Hi there, I’m due for my yearly review at the gp in a couple months, I’ve been on evorel sequi for almost 2 years with a break in between of 6 months. I feel great on it but the last month and half I have been bleeding every 2 weeks. While I don’t mind too much I just wondered is this due to a withdrawal bleed as well as my own period or could it be something more serious?

It may B your own hormones falling.  Is there anything in the leaflet in the box, mayB put the product name in the search box and read the threads?  Make notes ;-)

Often with sequential HRT in perimenopause you get your menstrual period plus the artificial withdrawal bleed.

In theory they are meant to overlap but given that one is fixed and one is highly variable as you go through perimenopause, this often fails and frequently results in chaotic bleeding with more days spent bleeding overall than untreated women.

If your cervical screening is up to date and you are low risk for endometrial cancer then this is very unlikely to be anything sinister.

There are however multiple bleed free options if you prefer.

Thanks for that, I haven’t had a cervical smear since before Covid, I haven’t been asked for one but definitely something on my to do list. I’m very sensitive to progesterone and am nervous about trying others because I’m doing ok on this one but obviously bleeding too often isn’t a good option so will perhaps have to rethink.
