Vagifem
« on: November 24, 2025, 12:11:51 AM »

Hi ladies,
Do you think all menopausal women should take vagifem even if they don’t have obvious symtoms?
My medical history is complex and I’m not sexually active so I don’t know about soreness or dryness. I do get occasional itchiness and UTI - I’ve been prescribed it but my GP isn’t really that interested and when I asked should I be using it he dodged the question.
What do you all think ?

It won't do any harm to have 3-6 months Vagifem to C whether symptoms ease?

Has a urine infection been diagnosed from a Lab.?  Were U given ABs without your GP discussing other options?

I don't believe that we should take any medication unless a diagnosis has been made but with womens' health, we know our bodies!

No, why take a medication if not needed. My best advice would be to wait for the first symptoms of GSM and that's usually a burning feeling after sex and the symptoms of a UTI. Once that happens start on treatment without delay, it will be for life.

When I started to suffer with GSM symptoms at 70 I had no idea what was happening to me, now its talked about freely on TV and treatment is easily bought over the counter for women over 50.

Who prescribed it and was it prescribed because you get UTIs?
