Thanks so much!

I’m also suspicious of the candida to be honest, I’ve had 4 rounds of antibiotics in 5 months and they ruin me. I feel like my entire microbiome has been destroyed!

The level of candida in my urine as so high I would be amazed if that was contamination from vaginal thrush. I’m even trying a castor oil pack and drinking diluted apple cider vinegar. Giving everything a go!

Well I had an interesting update - the urine culture sent off last week was totally negative. In fact they stated there was nothing at all visible under the microscope so they did not even culture it.

The last few days I have had less of the aching pain in my side and lower back. However I still have periods of time (usually just an evening or overnight) where I get urinate frequency seemingly out of the blue and a few white bits floating in my urine. When I do the dip stick it shows a mild amount of white cells and sometimes a teeny bit of trace blood. Then once the urgency stops the test strips go back to negative.

Now until this last month or so I’ve never had a UTI in my life (I’m 46) so this is all new. Is this how a UTI can behave? Seeming to flare up and down? Or is this more suggestive of stones or even some kind of hideous cancer of some sort? Or some kind of rare silent sepsis? (Thanks Health anxious brain)

I had such a terrible case of thrush which definitely caused some urinary urgency despite what the Drs said so could it be that slot returning?

I’m at a total loss now!!!

Dr has referred me for CT scan for kidneys but said it’s likely to take weeks.

Going to hit the d-mannose I think!

Has your GP suggested VA treatment?  This condition mimics repeated urine infection-type symptoms really really well.

Most dip sticks will show similar results.

Could just be the aftermath of the stones and thrush that's inflamed the urethra and bladder causing spasms and cramps. I had this after having recurring thrush for months that inflamed the bladder. The doctor recommended Buscapan, normally for IBS but also calms bladder spasms too and it works very fast, within 10 minutes. Can buy OTC.

Our dog had Buscopan when windy, a few moments after he would give a big burp and feel a lot better!

GP did mention VA treatment but said he thinks get the scan done first then sort a plan.

I do wonder if the thrush is ramping up again as I still have a bit of discharge which is unusual for me.

I’m just so anxious about what else could be going on. So far my fears are
Kidney cancer, bladder cancer or bowel cancer. The discomfort I have definitely moves around from lower back, to hip, to top front ribcage to abdomen. The last few months has been very stressful and lots going on in my life so part of me accepts this could be playing a part but the other part is in full fear mode.

Good info re the buscopan! I’ve also ordered some d-mannose to try!

Thanks for you all being so great!

Sorry Madge, you may have said but have you had any other tests. Bloods, maybe a fecal test?

Your GP is hedging?  Does he/she not know about VA?  How long will U need to wait for a scan?

No bloods done for a year and had FIT and stool inflammation about a year ago. All normal. I did a home stool test which was negative for blood and a home anaemia test which was also normal. I had some pooping issues but study has since settled since I have been on the probiotics. My mum had a bowel cancer scare recently and that’s what set me off on that path.

Annoyingly I had such a good summer where I felt pretty well and normal and then this hit as soon as I was back at work in September.

He said probably a few weeks for a scan.

I had a scan recently for gall stones and I rang the department and I got a cancellation that week. Might be worth doing that?

That’s a good idea, I did that when I had my pelvic scan a month or so back. Thanks 😌
