Slynd issues
« on: November 12, 2025, 09:03:31 AM »

Hi
I started Slynd a couple of weeks ago after struggling with Utrogestan (mood swings and depression). I'm super sensitive to Progesterone. But two weeks into Slynd I am unbelievably depressed. I've had depression before and this is as bad as I've ever been. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it resolve with time?
To be honest I wanted to try Nalvee, but my specialist said Slynd would be better.
Thanks
Kate

No personal experience with drospirenone (Slynd) - as a diuretic it is contraindicated for me.

However severe mood symptoms should prompt consideration of an alternative treatment.

Dydrogesterone (nalvee) is one of the most benign progestins and I would push for that given it was your first choice anyway.

Generally speaking if you aren't getting the treatment you want, when it is available and clinically appropriate, then it is better to change the doctor than the treatment.
