Chronic fatigue
« on: November 01, 2025, 01:04:13 PM »

Hello, 1st post so be kind 😇

Im 50 and last "period" was 1yr 8 months ago. I put it in quotes as it wasnt my last period. That's when I got my 2½ out of date contraceptive implant removed and havent had a period since. My mum was 42 when she was declared post meno after serving her 2 years off no periods as it was then. I had hot flushes, restless legs night sweats and breast tenderness and tingles. These are all controlled with evening primrose oil and starflower oil which im very grateful for. However, for the last 2 months im really struggling with chronic fatigue. Its like im fighting a general Anesthetic! I have OA and fibromyalgia amongst other things so I need to nap every day, but this is on another level! My bloods are all ok, (apart from a UTI which im on antibiotics for) and im not on HRT. Is there something natural anyone can suggest for it? Thanks 😊

Good afternoon -  :welcomemm:  We don't bite, unless there's a 'y' in the day  ;). Browse round, make notes.

Chrashing fatigue can be troublesome during peri-menopause.  I remember Mum stitching off the cooker and sitting down to sleep for hours, always at tea time.  A few years ago we both had symptoms of extreme tiredness which = low VitD levels, both of us improved with medication.  Has your GP done VitD and thyroid function blood tests recently as both can have similar symptoms.

U mention a urine infection treated with ABs - was a fresh sample sent to a Lab to be grown because very often at 'our age', it isn't an infection at all.  A dip stick test isn't enough, many ladies have traces of blood etc..

Vaginal atrophy is usually due to loss of oestrogen which causes the body to become dry: inside and out;

Hi thanks for your reply.
They did sent the sample off to be tested. I had terrible stabbing bladder pains and was peeing like a race horse. Feeling better now after 2 course antibiotics.
I had everything tested and all ok apart from a little higher cholesterol which I have a nurse app for.
